My dog is almost 2 years old, but he is having a problem with his nails. His pinky nails keep breaking. It happens every couple of months. It seems like they are too long and snap. But I just got done cutting them and it happened again. Yesterday, I was in the kitchen cooking. I turned to look at the dog and knew something was wrong. His tail was down and he was shaking. I noticed bloody paw prints on the floor next to him. Then I ran to the living (its all carpet), and there was paw prints everywear! Luckily, I got the blood up and his paw stopped bleeding. It is never this bad. I can tell he's really hurting because he won't get off my lap. Has this ever happened to you pet? Any idea what to do? Money is tight right now since I have a baby and I'm a stay at home mom, so I can't take him to the vet right now. Is anything I can do to strengthen his nails. This is the only problem he has, he's a very healthy dog. Thanks for the help.

hi there. since you have a baby i guess you will have some bum cream. apply it to the paw. it helps with the pain. to strenghthen the nails feed him jellie. its cheap. you can also try buying some brewers yeast pills. its also very cheap. its excellent for humans and dogs. strenghthens hair and nails. hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas. I was afraid the diaper rash cream would burn, but I guess not if it is used to relieve pain, not cause it. I will have to try a little. I'll have to look into the brewers yeast pills, because I've never heard of them before.
