Busy Signal?

I was wondering after something happened last night how many other people have had similar experiences. Have you ever had someone tell you that they were trying to phone you and kept getting a busy signal when you know that your phone was free? This happened to me last night. Two of my daughters said they were trying to phone me for a couple of hours and my line was busy. I told them that I was not talking to anyone at the time they were trying to reach me. This is not the first time it has happened, so I was interested to know if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Yes it has happened to me when I called my mother when she was alive. I would get a busy signal when the circuits were busy. However, that was a long time ago.

Hi worlwise1! I have had people tell Me that they had been trying to call Me but My line was busy and I know I was free and I have call waiting on my home phone. I thaught maybe they were dialing the wrong number or just going crazy. I recently discovered that everytime it rains my phone line goes out. I did not know this because I hardly ever use my home phone. So I have to get my line fixed.

That is really not that unusual.....happens all the time.I haven't had much of a problem with it here(maybe it's because I don't get a lot of phone calls from people that catually know me...lol)....but back in geramny this happend all the time.Even now when I call my grandma....I still get a busy signal sometimes and when I finally do get through and ask her....she says no....nobody was using the phone at the time.I think it amy have something to do with the networks being overloaded at times.....at least that's my best guess.

I've had that experience too. The strange thing is I have call-waiting so my line should never be busy. I'm guessing it might be because the whole system is overloaded (or whatever you call it...lol) or maybe there were storms somewhere. Annie

It is caused by many people in your area useing the phones. Like right after a earthquake, you can never reach loved ones in the area of the earthquake because everyone is calling. It can also be caused by more then 1 person calling your number at the same time!
