Do you think you are capable enough for your current position?

For me, sometimes, I am not confident enough to say that I could do everything well for my current job. Though my bosses trust in me and promote me to this position, I begin to think that if I am not capable enough to manage all the things now that more and more business and noises come to us in this peak season.
I would feel kind of frightened if I haven't finished all my task timely and correctly. And it is now not a issue of time management nor press management, it is about how to get noises cleared when it comes to us directly and how to get things done correctly & timely when some complaints come to us...
Well, I am working as a account management engineer, I also act as a global account management for Philips Global accounts & hadling the businesses from its EMS's. Meanwhile, I am acting as the supervisor for 5 people. I do doubt if I could manage all of the things in this very beginning and in this peak season. God bless me.
What about you, pal, are you good at your job/position?

The last time when I was in a job, it was 10 years ago. I was a senior executive (international sales) in real estate. I was capable of handling my job, but the slary did not increase due to stagnation in thebusiness and I had to leave for a better position with higher salary. I was able to fit into it without problem. So I consider that I had more resources and was underselling my services.

Nice to hear that you were capable of doing your job all along.
I hope in the end, I could reach to a high position
as Sales Director or something. But there is stil a long long way to go.

At the outset, I thank you for giving me the BR for my response.
Secondly, I did continue for 2 years in the position, but still the problem was real estate economy had reached 2000 ft below earth. I started my own business and I am the boss now and i feel more comfortable, enjoying my work and more I dig More I get. Only thing required is digging capacity.!!

Well, I watch kids from home so I'm the only one here to do my job. If I was out of the home doing a different job I might feel different. I think I do a pretty good job at what I do. I try to do my best and all the parent's I babysit for appreciate me and think I do a good job. So that's all that matters.

frankly, i'm not confident to be a translator, so i dont want to find a new job as a translator.
if i have ability to be a good translator, then i dont' think i will spend too much time on making money online sites, like mylot. because i am no too much free time. my major is English, but my oral English is poor, so i am not confident to chat with others in English, especially when i have an job interview. but i think my written English is OK.

Hi Wonderful,
That's Ok. As you majored in English in campus, you should have quite knowledge about English. You said you were not good at Oral English,that might be caused by lack of practise. You know, for English Speaking for a 2nd language learner, practice really makes sense here. I am not an English major, but I am forced to use English to communicate with people around the world, the more I speak , the better I could command it. So why not practice more here?
Wish your Oral English could be better and better.

never, never, never doubt your ability to perform a given task. anyone thats promoted to your position will have to go through the same thing, LEARNING. stop worrying about failing in your duty, you already enough people wishing you would fail so they can have your job.
when those nasty doubting thoughts creeps up on you again, just think...you make better mistakes than anyone else in your shoes.

sometimes i think i push myself too hard... i say i can do somehting i probably could not do, and end up using up so much time trying to figure out how to do it...
but the end result is always satisfying :)

hi,andy! thanks for your sharing.
As u know nobody can do everything well,u already do a good job and should be confident about yourself if u have done the majority of your work well.
U r capable or else your bosses would not be able to trust in u and give u those jobs.
Anyway it takes time for u to get things better.
About those noises,try to ignore them and do not care.Maybe it is the only way they could not harm u anymore.
U have accepted the position,and all u need to do is try to do things timely and correctly. It is ur responsibility.
Of course if u do have too large pression and really have not competence to this position,thinking over it seriously,and u have right to say no.:)
I graduated from a university last year and have a position in the lowest level in my company. If i want to climb up i should make much efforts than others.
Though i am capable to it,it is still not a suitable job that i wish to have for a long time.so i am now making preparation for further develpment.

Ok, I do believe that I am a good enough boy and is capable fo this position. Now there are too many noises just because our plants are doing very bad in the schedules... I hope this situation will be better fron Nov. on.
For your situation, you are well aware of yourself, that's a good start. Really wish you could find a suitable job and go for the top A.S.A.P.

i completely believe I am capabl;e enough of my current job role.
I even believe that I am capable of much more.
I think at this point of time my career is struck at a point and I need to move on.
I should look for better opportunity.

It is cool of you to be capable of doing your current position well. I believe that your abilities must be playing an important part in helping sales promotion in your business and make you get more bonus at the end of the year. Many of my students are working in companies as well and I am happy to know that they are doing a very good business in the current position. They are my pride as my old students. I consider it the best gift to me when I see their success in their work. As to myself, enough can be learnt from how my students work in their current position. Thanks for sharing, Andy.

i believe you have your own plans.maybe sometimes you don't get your thins done timely and correctly.but things are still under control.people who complain may not look at the problems from your point of view.so don't pay much attention to the noises and do what you should do.in my opinion,the result matters
