Do your kids like to watch the same movie over and over?

I take care of kids in my home. This one little boy brought over a scooby doo movie on Monday. We watched it. Well he brought it again the next day and we watched it again. The next day he came over another little boy asked him if he brought the scooby doo movie again and the little boy said no I'll bring it tomorrow. Well, he brought it again today and they are watching it right now. I just couldn't handle another day of watching it. LOL I think I know everything that happens already in the movie. So my question is do your kids or kids you babysit or grandkids or whomever like to watch movies over and over like this? The kids I watch can almost recite every word and tell me what is going to happen before it happens. LOL

lol cute! I don't have my own kids, but my nieces love to watch the same movie. My 4 year old niece loves to watch, believe it or not, the 2004 version of Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. I don't let her see any parts where he kills people though. My 6 year old niece likes Chronicles of Narnia, so does my 4 year old niece, but not as much as the Phantom. Lately, they both LOVE Homeward Bound, "the Shadow movie" as they call it, because the golden retrievers name is Shadow. They love watching it, especially the end.

Yeah, I like Homeward Bound too. Really good, so it isn't so bad that they like watching it lol. You should def. see Chronicles of Narnia (remake). It's really good and has really good graphics! :)

OMG~ this is my life exactly. I babysit also. Last year when Cars came out, the little boy brought it every day and wanted to watch it every day. He started reciting the word in the movie. I finally asked the mom if she wouldn't mind having him keep cars home for a while. It got so draining listening to it all day every day!!

Thank goodness this one is one they rented from the video store. 5-day rental so it will be going back soon. I think tomorrow. LOL But I'm sure another one will be coming over. At least they sit still and watch it. LOL

That is the only positive on these videos....the kids sit and watch them. Not too hard to keep them under control when they are glued to videos.

I'm tired of Barbie's movies. ^.^ one of my nieces watch these movies over and over again. she and her siblings would fight about it because they want to watch other movies. but all of them doesn't get tired of dragonball Z. even if how many times it had been already aired in a local channel they would still watch it. and I'm just so sick and tired of it. ^__^;; good thing its on mornings. I don't watch tv on mornings. ^__^

lol...I watch the same movie over and over too so why shouldn't kids do the same thing? My granddaughter has Barney and Wiggles movies that I know every word, song and dance to. I don't think I could deal with it if it were every day for days in a row though. Maybe he doesn't have any other movies to watch.

My son will watch the same movie 3 or 4 times in one day. He gets so focused it's all he wants to see. Usually after a movie has gone through the all-day fest I hide it for a week or so. Otherwise he'll want to watch the same movie over and over again for days on end.

We have a huge selection of movies. My son is happy just watching the same Thomas or Dora movies over and voer again. Maybe one day that will change.

I'm still single and don't have kids yet but I have a seven year old niece and a three year old nephew. They love to watch the same movie and television shows over and over. My nephew used to love the movie Cars, he always watches that at home and whenever we are going somewhere he still brings his CD and play that movie on the portable DVD player inside the car. His favorite now is the Highschool Musical 2, he knows the song and he sings along with it over and over again. Sometimes he will call me on the phone just to sing the theme song. My niece on the other hand loves watching tv, her favorite tv shows has replays in the afternoon and she still watches them eventhough she have seen these shows in the morning. She still laughs at the jokes and get excited over the show as if she have never seen them before.

Hi there. Yes our children love watching the same old movies over and over again, and they sit there and watch like they were new movies, and had never seen them before... They also sit there and say every line of a movie which can be annoying to the cousins that havent seen it...

there are many points here. if you have no ther go yes they do watch the smae thing like tom and jerry again and again.also some movies are repeated on the tube so they watch them and try to recollect the things which happened in the movie and comment then and there . i think that is a repetitive action.some time it works and sometimes it does nt.

My neice and nephew do too. I can't complain though. When The Lost Boys came out, my brother and I watched it almost 200 times during the summer, and yes we can recite it word for word!lol

YES! my kids do that too, they watch the same movies over and over, not that i can complain much i do the exact same myself, i watch SKY movies all the time and most of the movies i have watched at least 10 times, so i really don't mind (that much) watching kids movies over and over, the only thing that will annoy me really is watching a movie more than once a day or more than 3 times a week.

My 2 year old is like that with Dora the Explorer. She can watch it all day if I let her....which I dont cause a person can only handle so much Dora.... I see the way she is developing with her speach and how she knows what to say witht he shows. We also read her the dora books. and then do dora crafts.

my girls do that all the time. my 2 year old suddenly got into watching movies and when she did, she did it all the way lol. she started with scooby doo also, the real one. she watched it two times a day for like 2 weeks. then we moved on to shrek, then cat in the hat then monsters inc. lets just say i can quote a lot of those movies word for word and i can tell you how far along in the movie they are by just hearing a few words.

Yes, I let my kids watch the same movie over and over again, if they want to. My parents let me do so when I was a little girl, so why wouldn't I let my kids do the same? A couple of movies my kids have watched repeatedly are Ice Age (the first one) and Finding Nemo. I enjoyed both a lot so I didn't mind watching them with the kids again and again...and again. LOL

I don't have any kids of my own but the kids I use to babysit for watched The Lion King over and over. They could say all the lines would act out scence from it. When the songs came on they would get up and dance. It was really cute the first couple of times but it really got sickening after a while.
