Has anybody heard MAndy mOore's rendition of Jay-Z and Rihanna's "Umbrella"?!?
If so, What can you say about it?
Well, for me...at first i kind'a felt creepy. But when i listened to it again and again...i like it!
It really is a lovesong after all...
GOod job mandy! Way to go!

I listen to it every now and then. I love the way Mandy sings it, it's so smooth and cool. She totally has control to it; how she add her touch to it, really amazing and capable. Anyway, I also listen to some of her tracks in her new album Wild Hope, it's nice and very different from her previous albums. I think it's more mature, I hope you'll get a chance to listen to it...

Thanks for your response. Actually i find it relaxing. I think soulful is the more appropriate term...hehe. Have you listened to her song "Gardenia"? What's your take on it?

i don't like her rendition. i dunno... maybe it's just because i don't like it when people redo new songs just because it became a real hit to everybody.

With all my respects, I guess what is happenning here is the old story of the blonde girl stealing the work of the black girl, like it was very well explained in the film Dreamgirls. I don't like this "white version", sorry, I preffer much more Rihanna's live version or even the reggae remix.

Well to each is own...
I kind'a appreciated the song's message more when mandy had a take on it. Listening to Rhianna's version just gives me the "I-wanna-dance" feeling.
Hey, have you heard the version with Chris Brown? ILOVEIT!
I think maybe that's also your take on Jojo's rendition of Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Gurls". am i ryt?

I love the Mandy Moore version! I think she did a good job in singing this song, it's one of my favourites :D

let me just add. A lot of singers attempted to redo "Umbrella" in their own rendition. And most of them I'm also a fan to. BUt nobody redid it like Mandy did. At least she deserves our appreciation.

I LOVE IT! Rihanna is good with what she's doing and I totally respect that. Rihanna gave LIFE to "UMBRELLA", but Mandy gave it a SOUL. I'm not the R&B kind of person so I couldn't appreciate Rihanna's too much. Okay it's popular, but Mandy made it sound just the way I wanted. Haunting in some sort of way.
