Are you aware how bad smoking is for our health? I think today, most people are aware of that, in almost all public places smoking are banned and restricted already, and cigarette companies are no longer allowed to advertise on TV, radio and many magazines. Almost everybody knows that smoking causes cancer, emphysema and heart disease; that it can shorten your life by 10 years or more, and that the habit can cost a smoker thousands of dollars a year. If you don't smoke, just don't try or start smoking, cause once you start, it's hard to stop because tobacco contains nicotine that is highly addictive. There are no physical reason why we should start smoking, our body doesn't need tobacco the way it needs food, water and sleep. In fact, many of the chemicals in cigarette like nicotine and cyanide, are actually poisons that can kill in high enough doses. Over the long term, smoking leads people to develop health problems. These are only some of the reasons why we should stop smoking, i just didn't detailed it all so you can add some to this. I want to say that before my husband use to smoke packs in a day, but when he met me, i told him that i don't like him to smoke because it's bad for his health and i want him to live long if he wants to be with me for the rest of his life, because of that, he really tried to quit smoking even if it's really hard (it took him 3 tries before he totally stop smoking, means really nothing even one stick a day) and before we got married he is already a smoked free person. I am really happy that he quit smoking just to be healthy for me and for our future. Smoking is really bad for our health that's why i made it a topic here to let everyone be aware of it. When would we stop smoking? if we already have health problems? You should start quitting now and live a healthy life with your family. share us your stories if you are a smoker before and not anymore. :)

I have been aware of the side effects from smoking ever since I was young. I never smoke, but sometimes I have to receive passive smoking from people in a public place where I have to stay with them. I will never forget the experience that I had on a train back to my hometown. A young guy in his twenties sat next to me smoking from time to time and I was complaining about his smoking next to me. He blew the smoke at me on purpose after he heard my complaint about his smoking. He is such a rude person. I don't think that I will ever forget about it that has ever happened to me. It was so unpleasant affair. To my great happiness, my father never smokes and has set a very good example to me. I appreciate my father very much as always. For this reason, my father is enjoying a very healthy and long life. He is now 82 years old and is still very active every day in doing exercises. He goes to the park in the city to exercise early in the morning when there are few people on the street and in the park...

I was a smoker before. I quit because of I feel this is the time to end up this thing. I will smoke more due to alot of problems. Sometimes while I am smking I think about my kids. Sometimes, I ask myself a question, "If I am sick, Whose gonna take care of them? My husband left me, and he is irresponsible, and if i die he will not gonna taking care of my kids". Maybe thats question that plays in my mind make me to quit smoke. So I am happy now, and hope that I could stand it

Smoking over prolonged perdiod of time can cause a number of serious disease and illnesess, some fataland others that will not kill you but leave you with a poorer quality of life in general.Usually a person takes up smoking when they are young and the effects that smoking may have on the health does not enter their head at the time.Within a short while, they will become addicted to nicotine and it will be late to give up.The younger a person starts tosmoke, the greater the health risk they will face later on in life. COLD TURKEY:means to give up smoking there and then, without the help of any medical aids and purely using your own will power and strenght of mind.

You need to quit smoking for a lot of reasons. The first reason is you will live longer and live healthier. The second reason is the people you live with ,especially your children will be healthier. The third reason you will have mor more energy and breathe easier.Fourth you will lower your risk of heart attact, stroke,or cancer. Ask me how i know this? And my answer is I use to be a smoker and I quit for the same reasons.

Lung cancer is a big one, and mouth cancer. In the state of Ohio it's illegal to smoke in places now.
