Hi,My son is running 5 months now...For 4 months right from his birth,I breast fed him exclusively. When he stepped into his 5th month,I started formula milk for him only once a day and the rest of the time,my milk. After a week of practicing this, I slowly introduced cereal semi-solid. I am to join my job back next month...Can he be given fruit juices(orange or apple) for one feed? Thanks in advance.

so you are saying you want to subsitute a meal with juice?? would you want your meal to be juice?? you should feed him what you feed him now--formula, cereal, or baby food. but i wouldnt even consider jipping my child out of a meal by giving her juice! if you do give juice, you are not suppose to give over 4oz a day and it is suppose to be diluted with water. I rarely give my baby juice, but if i do, its 2oz of water, and 2oz of juice, once in awhile, not even everyday. you have to be very careful of what kind you give, anything citrus-y will upset their stomach and cause pain.

You need to check with his doctor! The diet increases with age but it is always wise to check before adding things. My sister pumped her milk when she went back to work and slowly added baby apple juice, babies hardly ever drink orange juice there is just too much acid. she left enough bottles for a day and pumped everynight, along with rice cereal the baby was happy and healthy. Hope you enjoy going back to work!
