I have always considered myself to be someone who seems to know a lot about many things that have no relevance to my career or general existence whatsoever! Maybe it is because I read a lot; or maybe I have a much better subconscious memory than I realize! Please add your little known facts here as you never know when the opportunity to share them may come up! Here are a few from me to start things off: Blind people dream in sound! Elephants can't jump! The total population of Russia is DECREASING by approximately 700,000 people per year!

A bathroom medicine cabinet is actually one of the worst places to keep medicine. That's about it.

Yes. Good point! The shelf life of medicine would not be very long in a bathroom.

I can think of two reasons for this..... Maybe because kids can reach it easily for one? And also because the bathroom is where we go when we have just woken up and maybe when we are half asleep we take the wrong medicines! lol. Thanks for responding.

And also because of the heat and the humidity in the bathroom.

Welcome! I'm one of your kind! here goes. Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time. There are 8 cities called Rome in the USA. Turtles have no teeth. The human body contains enough fat to make seven bars of soap. Grasshoppers have white blood. And lots more..lol

lol...Springfield is the name of an apartment near where I live. But these facts do come in handy when you have kids around who keep asking all sorts of questions:)I have one who is in the asking stage and one who still hasn't started.

Great! It's good to see that there is a fellow fact freak out there!!! I wonder what town or city name is the most used overall? I read once that "Springfield" is used to name over 100 places in the US alone! There is even a town called "Hell" somewhere in Europe.... (Sweden I think). The human body/soap fact is very interesting and also gross! And no wonder Da Vinci was so talented! Thanks for responding and sharing your knowledge!

I know that platypus is the only laying mammal. Killer sharks are dolphins and whales are a family of dolphins too. Norther Lights also appear in the south pole. The area in the brain that functions when you are listening to classical music is the same area that functions when you are solving mathematical problems. That's all I know for now.

Thanks Jemina! If I ever end up on one of those game shows with quiz questions I now have a few more facts up my sleeve! And to add to your first fact..... (and hopefully without sounding like a smart a@@) The echidna is also an egg laying mammal; both the platypus and echidna are known as monotremes! Thanks for responding and sharing your little known facts.....

Hi James, thanks for correcting me. I don't mind you doing that if it's for my improvement and I'm grateful you did. Well, I do wish you luck when you join the quiz :D

We all have many, many things we can learn from each other! And you just never know when that little tidbit of "useless" information may come in handy! If you ever end up on a million dollar game show and the final question relates to egg laying mammals.... don't forget me OK! ;)

Hi friends, did you know that you can boil water in a plastic bottle? I was mondered when they told me, but then I tried myself - and found out that it works. It looks like water doesn't allow plastic to heat enough to start melting. Of course with big fire it will not work but in small it does.

I remember in Science class when I was a teenager one of our romm assignments was to boil water in a paper bag! Back then drinks didn't actually come in plastic bottles though! Thanks for sharing and responding.

Hi, friends, here are some facts about trees if you are interested: - the oldest trees on the planet are several Bristlecone Pine trees in Arizona. Their age is more then 7000 years. Recently I have read in the Internet that they found even older trees in Scandinavia, but unfortunately I got no details about species and age. For comparison the oldest Giant Sequoias are about 4000 years old. - if counting annual rings you can make a mistake estimating tree's age because in some years trees don't produce rings. It happens when conditions are not good enough for growing (too cold, too dry etc.) And in some situation trees can produce several rings in one year, it happens in those conditions when dry and wet periods change several times a year.

Trees are great! Ever hugged one? I try to in every country I visit! 7000 year old trees?? That's amazing! Can you imagine what they would have seen throughout that time if they had eyes? I knew about Sequoias but not Bristlecones. Thankyou for responding and sharing these facts. It's good to learn something new!
