One thing that I have observed here in Australia is that people swears a lot. Is this normal? People just express want they feel and say what they want without thinking about other's feeling. It's so strange for someone like me who grew up in a culture where I am thought how to respect other people and not to hurt them. In here, people doesn't care and that I can see younger people does not have any respect for the older ones. I don't know if this is really the culture of Australians. I am still adjusting here and trying to adopt from the environment. Can someone tell me how does the australian goes. Thanks...

Aussie - An aussie bloke and beer
With a lot of Australians yes it is just normal, I think Aussies are so lay back that words are just words with the exception of one or two words, I think also it is not the words that are being used but how they are said so it is the actual delivery and not the word, some swear words can sound funny (to the Aussies anyway ) if said in a funny way and yet the same word can be directed in a vulgar way, and it is also common for Aussies to take a good word and deliver that in a vulgar way so I think it is in the delivery. Also sometimes to have a swear word thrown at ou by an Aussies can mean they accept you and like you, we are a funny lot we Aussies but when you get a nickname good ot bad you will know they really like you....yes strange lot we are....

Swearing is common with alot of teens and males, but it seems to be alot more in recent years especially if some one annoys them to the point where they just let it go.

I really don't think it makes a difference. that happens all over the world, Young Kids are very disrespectful, I think it has a lt to do with how are chidren are rasised, if they don'yt have respect for parents they don't have respect for nobody!
