What's the most expensive piece of clothing that you've ever purchased?

One of the most expensive clothing items that I have ever purchased cost over one hundred dollars. And, I guess that's about average for good career clothing. Recently, though I haven't put that kind of money into clothes. Just too many other expenses to worry about fancy clothes. So, what's the most expensive piece of clothing that you've ever purchased or worn? Do you think that you would still pay so much money for clothes now?

I don't really know what the most expensive article of clothing I have personally bought would be. I do know that two Christmases ago my husband bought me a pair of Coach shoes that were $350! I about fell over when I found that out. I never spend that amount on myself!

Hi beautyqueen! The most that i spent was $359.00 can. on a new years eve ball gown.A friend of ours has a lodge and made a big new years eve party and we had to dress very formal for it.Its floor length made of silk. The color is silver with crystals forming the neck with a v line.Small elegant shoulder straps making a crisscross in the back. Its beautiful, though i never wore it since then. But the night was marvelous. We each had our own table to sit at with our names on it and lots of exciting things to do with a big buffet.:)

I must admit I spend a lot of money on clothes and always have but the single most expensive item of clothing is a dress that cost £350 (about $700 I think) a year or so ago. I don't usually spend THAT much on a single item so that was unusual for me. Also bear in mind clothes tend to be more expensive here in the UK (does it sound like I'm making excuses?). However if you were talking about shoes and boots and bags ... now that's a whole other story lol!

My wedding dress and that was actually very cheap for a wedding dress. It was $550. Other than that the most expensive dress I bought was $80 and the most expensive shoes I ever bought were $60 (the only ones I could find to go with a dress I only paid $20 for).

Excluding formal clothing (I have a 200 dollar graduation dress in my closet from the 6th grade.) the most expensive piece of clothing I've ever boughten was a pair of pants. Cost me roughly 113 dollars. I haven't worn them in a while, unfortunately. I've gained a bit of weight!

Oh well, I had a confession to make. The most expensive clothing I have ever had would be a leather jacket from Agnes b. I still couldn't understand why I would spend so much money to buy that (costing me around USD1000). I thought maybe I was insane or something. But I guess that was worthed it because I had it for many years now and it still looks brand new. But I wouldn't spend so much money again on a piece of clothing, that was really extravagant!

Of course my wedding dress like most women was probably my most extravagant purchase. Although, my husband bought me a Linda Lundstrom coat that is beautiful, and I love it, and wear it over and over every winter. I think it was about 1000 dollars. That was back in the days when we had the money to spend, now...,...no way, I'm lucky if I can buy a Walmart t shirt.

My mom made my wedding dress, and she paid for all the materials for it, or that would be my most expensive piece of clothing. The most expensive piece of clothing I've ever bought was probably a coat then. I've got one that was around $150 or so. Usually I don't pay that much money for any clothing, though. There are other things that I prefer to spend money on. I can't imagine spending a lot of money on clothing now. A pair of jeans and a t shirt is good for most of the stuff I do now that I don't work outside of my home.

$140 dress for a wedding YEARS ago when I could fit into a size 10-12. That is the last time I have ever bought any one thing at that price. It may not be much for others but it was a lot for me! I will never spend that much on one peice of item anymore. It's not worth it unless I was going to wear it often.

Of course my wedding as others have said. Then there is also my full length leather coat. In my professional days I have spent a good deal on suits that I didn't think anything of at the time. I think I would choke at the thought of spending that kind of money on clothes now. Funny how those things change.

My most expensive clothes cost me more than one hundred dollars for a very nice wool sweater. It is not cheap at all for me. Later I have learnt to buy good clothes with good brand on sale. I don't think that I will buy those expensive clothes again as it is easy for them to get out of fashion. I don't think that it is worth it since I can buy the same good clothes on sale. I would like to spend money on some investment that could bring me profit than on expensive clothes.

I would agree with the wedding dress. Mine was about $700 in 1994. I'm really pretty frugal with clothing and buy most of my stuff at Fashion Bug or resale stores so I don't tend to spend much on clothing. But once in a while if I'm looking for something specific or need something fast and don't have time to shop around I will pay more than I'd like. A few times I've spent $150-$200 on a suit for work. Once I bought a leather coat for $200. It's not something I do often so I don't feel horrible if I spend a lot of money on something that I really need or want but I do always wish that I could have found it cheaper.

I splurge on shoes. Though $100 is already expensive for me. The shoes I remembered I splurged on was my Kickers boots around $75 and my Crocs Alice shoes around $35. I usually spend on face creams like SK II and Clinique. I also buy perfumes. Thus all in all it turns out that though I don't splurge on clothes, I splurge on other things.

Like others mentioned, my most expensive item was my wedding dress. I think I spent around $1300 on it. Other than that my most expensive piece of regular clothing is one of my leather jackets, which was a few hundred dollars.

Hi there beauty queen. Well first of all take into account that i am still a student, so i don't have a stable or high income. The most expensive clothing i ever bought was a tennis outfit for my girlfriend that was about 35 $ at the time.

Would have to be a suit, nothing comes close in terms of price.
