Belching may happen repeatedly in a single day. It is natural to burp but excessive belching can be embarrassing and uncomfortable. Belching is your body's way of expelling air from the stomach, you may swallow the excess air if you eat or drink too fast, talk while you eat or drink carbonated beverages. Acid reflux can have the same effect, if stomach acid backs up into your esophagus, you may swallow repeatedly to clear the material. This can lead to swallowing more air and further belching. Some people swallow air as a nervous habit, even when they are not eating or drinking. In other cases, chronic belching is related to inflammation of the stomach lining (gastritis). To reduce belching it may help to eat and drink slowly, avoid carbonated drinks or beer, skip the gum and hard candy, don't smoke, check your dentures and treat heartburn(over the counter antacids or other remedies may be helpful. I hope this explains clearly the reasons why we experience belching (usually after eating) and how to reduce belching. Do you have problems belching? what do you do with it? When do you usually experience belching? Tell us your story.

Belching ...I usually resort to my grandma's remedy. Take a pinch of sugar and make it dilute gradually in your mouth...another remedy is pull your tongue at intermittent intervals. I'm sure these two suggestions have worked out good when I belch. Try it out for yourself, whenever you have the urge to belch.

thanks for the helpful tips sukumar794. I only belch sometimes, usually when i drink too much soda. hehehe. it's just natural to burp, but if it's excessive belching already then we have something to do with it. :) have a nice day!

My friend's friend does it all the time, and she thinks it's so funny, it's not though. I understand if you can't control it, but she does the most loud and obnoxious ones ever.

I don't have a problem with belching because I tend to drink plenty of water and I stay away from carbonated beverages.
