Ever get stumped when someone asks you something?

I had a phone call a few minutes ago. It was my cable company. They said they were just calling to let me know about their phone service and she asked me if I was familiar with it. I said yes that my mom had it and I wasn't interested in it. Then she says "May I ask why?" Then it was like I couldn't get the sentence out of my mouth. I knew what I was trying to say but I just couldn't get it out. I said "I just uh I just don't uh I'm happy with who I'm with now." Then I had to laugh at myself because I sounded so funny. Sometimes when people ask me something I guess it just catches me off guard. LOL I wasn't expecting her to ask me why I wasn't interested. I could have said cause my mom's phone service is terrible with you guys. Sometimes she can't even use her phone and has to go to the neighbor's house or use her cell phone so that's the real reason I don't want it. But I didn't want to be mean and say something like that. So do you ever get stumped when someone asks you something?

Hi, sweetgirl_k1. I have always have gotten stumped when I talk to someone. It seems that people comes out of the blue just so that they can surprise you. They do that to see what you may say. I hate it when people do me like this. It is very uncomfortable to be put into the spotlight.

Hi sweetgirl! Oh yes that happens to me alot. Dont feel so bad your not the only one!LOL Then when I get off from the phone I always say to myself I should have said bla bla bla! I always do that. But like you said I dont want to hurt their feelings. But you know what I think Im going to try and speak up because they really need to know if something is wrong thats why they call.

I usually dont get stumped when talking to telemarketers. I used to be one so i know what to say to get them to quit calling. They usually always ask why you arent interested. As if that really matters. I usually just hang up if they wont listen to me...

Well, yes I have been caught off guard sometimes and not had a ready answer but in the circumstances you were mentioning I'm usually just quite honest about it. I'm not rude about it - I don't say "because I heard you were cr@p" lol! I would phrase it nicely but still say more or less the same thing.
