What on earth am I here for?

I think that this is a very important question that we need to ask ourselves.
Is there a reason for me to be on this earth? Do I have a purpose on this earth?
I personally believe in a Creator God who have made us all with the purpose of knowing Hin, to have fellowship with Him and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
What is yours?

as an existentialist, i find it ironic how a purposeful life will lead us to really be the products of what our master wants as to be.
that is why i believe that there is no distinct purpose in life [for the sake of free will ofcourse], other than the purpose you create for yourself, and when you reach that purpose, a new one will come to you...

We may not agree as to the source of our purpose, but we do agree that a purpose is important.

I dont believe in god BUT I do believe we are all here this life for a specific reason...We each have a certain task to to accomplish and lessons to learn/teach etc etc...but the only person who can tell us what that actually IS (our purpose) is us...After many yrs of soul searching etc etc I came to kow what my purpose was a few yrs back...and oddly enough I also realized that I've been fulfilling my purpose (for lack of a better way of putting it) since i was 13/14 yrs old...

I see you believe in God, I'm not religious but if you are you could find an answer in your religion I suppose. I think it's best not to think to much about this but to live your life to the fullest according to your believes and values.

I don't know if you will believe me but I had thought of putting this very same question on mylot with the answer - so here is the answer - According to the Vedas God made man to interact with God and with each other and while doing so develop into a better person and grow nearer to God - and one day after many lives merge in God - never to be born again.

The Bible say God made us to injoy, and for us to injoy him. And to take care of the earth, and reperduce. There is no big mistry of life its is just this simple. To love the lord your God with all your heart mind and soul.
