I know you should not blow your own horn but I am dancing for joy!!!!!!!!!!! I weighted in today and I have lost 101 lbs. Can you believe I have lost a whole person. I did it dieting and not by having stomach surgery. It has taken me a little over two years. Yippy, yahoo! Now I can move and dance finally. The problem I am facing now is the excess skin I have in my legs. I have some rolls of skin on my thighs, I can live with it by wearing pants and long shorts, but the problem I am having is the skin is getting caught up in my clothes. I think it might be like when men get their privates pinched in their underwear. LOL. I still have 60 more lbs to lose so I am not going to do anything about it. I think I will try some firming lotion to see if that works some. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with all that excess skin? I also have it under my arms, I guess I can fold it up to keep my shoulders warm this winter. LOL

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's awesome!!!! The firming lotions are basically preperation H, they tighten up the skin while it's being applied, but it wears off. I don't know of anything other than surgery that will get rid of it. And that's a good reason to have the surgery too! Treat yourself and have the skin removed by a plastic surgeon - that might be your last 60 lbs??? I just wish I had your willpower, I've just needed to lose 20-40 lbs (it was 20, not it's 40). But you've inspired me!!!

When I stick to my diet - which is very reasonable and healthy - I do great (2 lbs/week). But, when I go out to eat, or to a party, or want something off the diet... That just kills it! Last weekend was a real eye-opener for me. I had to go to a wedding and the dress I planned on wearing did not fit. I didn't have anything else to wear so I had to squeeze into it and be miserable. I felt like the girl in the first Pirates of the Carrabean when she fell off the wall because her corsett was so tight. And I looked like crap too, but my husband was being nice and saying I didn't. Yesterday I had to put some jeans on - they BARELY fit and they left horrible marks in my sides that hurt for hours after I took them off. I have got to get serious about this before it gets out of hand. Good luck with you last little bit, again, you've done terriffic!!!

reinydawn do not let yourself get to be as big as I was. I had to lose 160lbs. I was so obese that I felt there was not starting because the goal was soooooo far away. I was worked up twice for stomach stapling and got really ill before it both times. I felt it was a sign from God telling me not to do the surgery. I am disabled and do not go to work everyday so I feel that helps. I do not have work people to distract me from my goal. I diet during the week days and eat what I want in the week ends. If I am craving something I know Friday and Saturday is coming and I will be able to have it. Good luck to you if you need any help message me maybe I can help.

Thanks for your response. I know when you are ready you can do it. I feel a person has to be really ready to do loose weight like stop smoking. I think no matter what people say, or how they preach to you if you are not truly ready then some how you will fail. I failed so many times I cannot even remember. What my advise is do not get down on yourself no matter what size you are. Once I learned to be confortable with who I am and how big I was then I was able to loose weight. Good luck to you girlfriend.

Thank you what makes this so hard is it has taken me so long to do it. I still have 60 more pounds to go. I told someone I had lost 101lbs and she said boy when you lose 60 more pounds you will be skinny. I have not thought of myself as skinny since I got out of high school 30 years ago.

Okay, well, first of all, Congratulations on your weight loss. It is not an easy task, but well worth the struggle. Now, for the extra skin, I have heard about people going to the gym and toning up. I hope that this is helpful to you and that you do not have to go through any dangerous procedures to deal with it.

Thanks for the advise. I have been swimming and walking when I can. The last few days I have been really dizzy. Today I am having problems sitting up on my chair. I guess all my symptoms are coming back. I feel it is something I have to live with the rest of my life.

It has been really really hard. Some days I do not think I can continue with it. I diet on the weekdays and eat what I want on the weekends. I then do not feel so deprived. I have found I cannot tolerate beef steaks like before or fatty foods. I guess that is a good thing.

With my food allergies I have so much trouble with food that I should get back to my full time rotation diet, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

I started on Weight watchers and that lasted almost a year. I gave it up and gained 15 lbs back. Then in January I started on LA Weight loss. I love the program which lets you eat your own food. It teaches you to eat your own food. They now have some boxed foods that are vacuumed sealed. You have a shake for breakfast, a meal for lunch, and dinner and add the veggies and fruit and you get your daily requirements. I have not tried it because I am doing fine eating my own food from home. I cook for my husband and I and it helps not to have any kids to have to cook for.

That's great! Congratulations! I'm afraid I can't help with the excess skin condition - sorry (I understand it's a fixable problem, though) - but I'm very happy for you and your accomplishments! Keep it up! =)

Hey Hey Hey! A big congratulation my friend! I'm so proud of you!!! Give yourself a big pat on the back from me. You've definitely been doing something right. Keep it up! I've lost 60 lbs in the last 15 months and I've got another 30 to go to reach my goal. Once I reach my goal I'll decide if I want/need to go a couple pounds more or not. Depends on how I feel. As far as the excess skin goes a lot depends on if the skin is "intact" or scarred with stretch marks. If there are no visible stretch marks there are certain things you can do to help tighten the skin back up a bit. First thing that helps is massage, you need to get increased blood flow into those areas. Using a loofah or something that small rubber knobs on it can really get the blood flow going. Just plain ol' hand massage can help too and it's excellent exercise for your hands and arms too! There are claims by some lotions and cream makers that they have products which tighten the skin and on the face or neck the results are actually noticeable but I personally would say they would be useless on the thighs or belly area. The skin is just too thick for results to be noticeable and the effects are short term and temporary anyway. Just keeping the skin well moisturized with a good vitamin e, aloe vera based lotion will benefit the skin surface and make it look better. Just avoid any lotions made with mineral oil, very bad for the skin. If the skin is scarred by stretch marks which indicates actual tearing of the skin's fibrous structure, then surgical removal of the excess skin is the only answer. Darn! After I'm finished losing all the weight I want to lose I may go begging to some plastic surgeons and see if they'll give me tummy tuck for a reduced price or maybe even pro bono. You never know unless you ask, right? All they can say is yes or no.

Ya yippy for you also. Lossing weight is very hard for me. I love food and I am a stress eater, I also am a person who eats when I am board. I also eat because I love the crunch or the chewing motion. Gum does not do it when you want that chewing motion nor does ice. I eat what I want on the week ends and diet on the week days. I have been loosing about a pound and a half a week. I have back sleed some but oh well. I have good insurance if I need surgery but I would avoid that if possible. I have lots of other health problems I have to deal with before I deal with flappy skin. Thanks for the advise on the massage I will try it. If the excess skin was not so uncomfortable I could deal with the ungliness of it. Oh well its my falt for letting myself get so fat in the first place. I am proud of you also and keep up the great work friend.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!! for losing all that weight, but the skin problem can be tackled only by surgery, i think. You can take the advice of some experts. Good luck , friend.

I may have to resport to that if it gets to bathersome. I hate the thought of having surgery but when my excess skin gets penched in my clothes ouch! It is not so much because of the looks which I can say it is really ugly, it is the pinching. I will discuss it with my doctor. Hay maybe this is the time for a boob lift. LOL

Yes I am really proud of myself. I cannot belive I have stuck it out. I have lost more than I have to to lose. I am over the hump. I swim in my pool almost daily and walk when I fell well enough. My hubby and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 30th anniversary tonight the restaurant took a photo of us. I saw it and I thought to myself, I look skinny. Which I am way from skinny but I am getting there. This is the first photo I have seen of myself in a long time. I also have been miserable since eating dinner I ate to much. I ate soup, salad and less than half of my dinner. I bought my shrimp home and my bread. I ate my veggies. I will have shrimp for lunch tomorrow yum.
