I Might Not Be Around Too Much For Awhile

Nope don't worry folks I'm not disappearing from here, and I hope to check in a bit everyday, but I'm puttering around with aspects of my computer I never even tried before...Since I have a Mac computer I have the iDVD and iMovies capabilities, and up until now I've never even tried it...I've had my computer since February. So I'm discovering I can make fantastic slideshows with my photos...except I need to really practice to make them look great. I'm thinking by creating slideshows, then burn them on DVDs and they would be a great "presentational" thing to send like a portfolio of my work to perspective clients who might want to use my photos...I was working on just one slideshow all night, and it's now 2:08 a.m. already...yeesh, where does the time go? But I'm having fun with this new little project of mine... So yes, I'll be checking in, and don't worry I'll try to catch up in responding to my discussions that you folks replied to already..uh, eventually...LOL

Isn't it hard to focus on just one thing when on-line. I have so many interests and I have so many things on the go. There is just not enough time in the day. Once upon a time it was nothing for me to have 3X 4 hour sessions but I'm down to 2. I just get too tired and by that I mean sleepy. I simply cannot keep my eyes open. Just have fun what ever you do...sounds like your creative juices are flowing so go to it....focus on that for as long as you need to get it down to a fine art. All your friends will watch out for you and keep your Mylot seat warm for you. Hugs.

I sure wish there were 60 hours in a day..well finished my first slideshow..think I did a good job on it..now I can't wait to do more!! It was fun...aggravating, but fun as there aren't any "instructions" on how to do it..so played by ear...and a lot of swearing...Now I have a feel for what the heck I'm doing!

Hey Pye, That sounds like the perfect idea for your business. What a great calling card that will be,Anyone that responds will be like a fish on a hook because they've already previewed your work with the slide show. By the way have you presented any of your photo's for sale on the internet?

I'm avoiding like the plaque any of those micro stock photo sites like iStockphoto and Shareapic as I view it as rips offs..A person looking for a particular photo can download photos for about a buck, and the photographer gets only 25-cents a hit...that same client can use that photo a zillion times without any further compensation to the photographer..it's known as royalty free rights--In my heyday when I sold my work years ago, I could get $100 per photo. I do belong and upload some of my work to Photographer's Direct which has a heck of a lot better policies for photographers and is geared more for us pros..hehe--My ultimate aim is creating my own on-line business to sell directly to clients on par with pro photographer Seth Resnick of whom I've been in contact with..you can see his site here..and check the prices HE charges for his work!!! http://www.sethresnick.com

Hi there...just popped in...It's 12:12 a.m. Sunday...I was working on doing one slideshow all day Saturday since 4 in the afternoon, and been at it up until a few minutes ago...Mmmm..there's no iDVD for Dummies, like there is for Photoshop...A lot of hits and misses, and a lot of swearing at the computer...but I finally did a great looking slideshow..now to do more..eventually--I have a feel for it now, and think I know what the heck I'm doing now...LOL Oh--yup--always exploring new horizons...that's me :)

Well it happens. Sometimes we have a golden program that can really take us away from mylot (I have several). Somehow though, I still find the time to hang out here and help those in need of help. Now Pye, I'm off to save another and keep posting. Don't be a stranger for too long!

I've never tried to make a slideshow or anything like it. It sounds like something fun AND hard! When I got my digital camera, I was into the wee hours just checking out the features on the camera and software. Good luck with your business!

Well, we will miss you and I wish you the best of luck with your newest venture. I haven't learned all my computer will do either. Matter of fact, several months ago, maybe even longer...we bought a new printer, one with a copier, scanner and fax machine all in one. I haven't even opened the box yet. I don't know why I am putting it off, I know once I open it and get it all hooked up and learn how to use it I will think to myself, now that wasn't all that bad was it? But I don't know when I will get around to opening the box. Glad you are enjoying and having fun with your computer. Have a great weekend.
