Which do you prefer for a car....an SUV or regular 2/4 door car?

SUV would be my choice - What do you like about an SUV?

I don't drive but if I did I would love to have an SUV! There seem to be so many good things about them but what I really like is the size. Being in a vehicle that large I would feel a lot safer in it than a regular small car. Having so much space to put things in is also a big plus to me. I would be visiting a lot more garage sales and flea markets if I had one. Which do you prefer? Which do you have? What do you like or not like about an SUV?

Hello! I like SUVs as I grew up having a big family car. Considering how maniac the drivers drives here in Bahrain, you need a big car, i'm thinking of a Hummer or any SUV as I would feel safe in it. But since i'm miss shorty, i'm a bit so-so to drive an SUV, so now i'm thinking of Minnie Copper S or a Beatle or any regular 4 door car. I don't like 2 door cars that much. Happy driving. *smile* ciao! =)

I think SUV's are nice, but you have to be careful with them. SUV's have been known to flip over and I've seen many a flipped over SUV in my time. No other car is involved, it's just you and your SUV. People have to drive them a lot more carefully than they do other vehicles. I also think people get cocky in SUV's cause they're so big and that ticks me off. I always drove 4 door cars. I HATE 2 door cars. But currently I drive a 5 door car. 5 door = Hatchback. Hatchbacks are a great way to have a regular sized car with lots of room.

I had a hatchback at one time and loved it. It was way back before SUV's were made.

I actually like small cars. Much easier on gas and what not. And you can fit all you need in them if you move it right.

When I drove and had a car I always preferred the smaller compact sizes. SUV's weren't even around when I was driving.

I don't drive either, ctry, but I like the feel of riding in a larger vehicle. It does give you a safer feeling. And the possibilities for hauling things in them are endless. My brother-in-law has one and you really get a good comfortable ride in it. I traveled with them to Indiana a couple of years ago to go to the casino. The space and comfort were a big plus for such a lengthy trip.

I'm sure they are great for longer trips. I would also appreciate all of that roominess.

The Gas mileage on SUVs sucks. My hubby has one and gets about 14 mpg. If I didn't have so many kids I'd get a cute little gas efficent car. :) My mini-van isn't too bad on gas but I'd still like to be able to spend less than $200/mo on gas.

When there are a couple of kids in the family the SUV seems to be the thing. Gas mileage would make me think twice especially with the high prices today.

I prefer having a car. I like the moderate sized vehicle and have no need for anything gaudy or way over the top. Oh and I've seen way more SUV and truck wrecks (yes even plenty upclose and on scene) than smaller car wrecks.

I think there are car accidents no matter what type car you have. I would feel safer in a large car than a small one if I were to get into an accident.

Right now I have a minivan, and I love the additional height that you get, giving you a better view of what is going on around you. At work, I drive a Suburban...it is much higher, but it is also like driving a fast tank. It is enormous but high and gives good visibility. My minvan get about 24 -25 miles to the gallon on average. The Suburban probably abot 14 or 15 miles to the gallon - tops. I feel too low in a car, I will go with an SUV. I want/need the 4 wheel drive.

Yes, the hight seems to be the good think about SUV's. I like being higher up than other cars. I also love mini vans for the room they have.

We have a jeep grand cheeoke and i love it , its up higher than a car so we dont get stuck in the snow, we travel a lot to vermont which is a very snowy state in the winter and being up higher with the four wheel drive helps us to get thru where others cant. since we have had the jep when I get into someones car I feel like im sitting on the road. we can pack a lot of things in the jeep with the fold down seats so we can haul bigger items.

I don't like big cars, so I don't like SUVs. I have a small car, with only two seats and it's just what I need. There is no need for a bigger one. It was cheap and it is safe. Besides, most of times I'm alone in the car, so why 4 seats? I wouldn't feel safer in a big car, I love my car and I know it's safe.

I had an SUV. I loved it so much. It was so roomy and comfortable. Just sitting a few inches higher really makes a difference when you are in traffic. I hate when I can't see over the car infront of me, so an SUV really helps with this. They also seem to drive much smoother, at least mine did. I would have never gone back to a car, except for the gas mileage. I only got about 16 miles per gallon. There were a ton of stop lights where I lived which made it even worse. My car now gets 30 miles to a gallon, which really helps with the high gas prices. I think when I have more children, I will go back to an SUV. That is, if I can afford the gas!

The price of gasoline is getting ridiculous isn't it? I didn't realize SUV's got such bad mileage.

I'm not a big SUV fan. I don't have any reason to need a big vehicle, and an SUV is just too much vehicle for just me to drive around. And I don't see them as safer than cars. I also know that some people like 4x4 SUVs for driving around in snow and bad weather. But most cars get around just as easily in poor weather. I'm definitely a car person.

I don't see them as being any safer either. Maybe since there is so much car around you if anything happened you would be less prone to get injured too badly.

If you ask me, I will go for an SUV. I had been driving an SUV for a long time now. You see, I happen to own one of the first SUV of Suzuki, which is a Suzuki Samurai JX. It has been with me for the past 18 years. Except for a few minor repairs, it is still in a tip top shape. I have plans to acquire the latest Suzuki SUV the moment our finances will permit it, and trade-in our Suzuki Samurai, but now it seems I have some second thoughts about trading in our time tested 18 year old Suzuki Samurai SUV which our family has come to love.

Mercedes_ML500_SUV - Mercedes_ML500_SUV, is the most fastest SUV in the world.
My dream vehicle is SUV as well. Mine is for Mercedes ML500. So far it is the most fastest SUV on earth. Outside the change isn't so evident; the new M looks a lot like the old, re-rendered in hi-def. The corners and bodyside lines are a little more creased; the trim and sparse chrome bits a little more defined. The saw-tooth grille insert is reminiscent of machined industrial equipment. Jeweled taillamps and HID headlights complete the high-tech theme. One thing hasn't changed, though--that oversized, tri-pointed star on the grille is still suitable for Flava-Flav's accessory drawer. The heart of the $48,500 ML500.

I don't see how an SUV can be fast since it's such a big vehicle. I was never into speed in a car anyway so it wouldn't matter to me. It's the size and room that I appreciate.

I have been driving SUV when i was in Europe and I have to tell you , it is really great feeling. It s such a comfortable car and have a lot of space in the trunk, plus we got navigation system, it was great.I love that car a lot.Even my mom, who has really problem get in to the car, (beucase of her not good legs, she got no problem). It easy to move the seat, plaenty place for tall people...It has so many positivies..I feel like I am doing promotion for the cars.lol And you are right also with safety too. They are much more safer like a small car, even the statistics would tell you that.I am thinking about something what I dont like about SUV, but I cannot thing about anything.Oh I can think about tomething I have got a heating seat ..oh man great think..If you will won one day SUV got this seat..it is so nice.
