Favorite Furniture Style

Over the years I have had several different styles of furniture to furnish my home. I happen to like the Traditional style of furniture more than any other. I also tend to gravitate toward big, comfortable furniture rather than the light-weight, easy to move type. This used to present a problem for me because I like to move things around often to give the room a fresh look. Now, however, I find that I am more content to leave things where they are for longer periods of time. I have gone through phases where I only preferred sectional furniture, leather furniture, and faux suede. Now I really like the textures like corduroy and chenille.

I'm not really a fan of too traditional style of furniture, especially colonial style..yet I'm not a fan of ultra modern design either...I think I fall somewhere in between genres...I LOVE the wood and rattan kind of furniture and with light color wood rather than dark and light color fabric for sofas and chairs--anything that gives a night airy feel to the place

I like garage sale stuff. It's fun & inexpensive. I like brightly-colored stuff. Lots of flowers, etc. I decorate also with shoes, purses, dolls, stuffed animals, etc. Love "shoe chairs" and lava lamps! I think that decorating should be *fun*!
