Why is marijuana/weed/pot frowned upon?

Why are people so negative towards you when they found out you smoke? Isnt it safer than cigs or beer? I mean really, it makes you want to be a couch potato, and when you drive, though i dont think it wisely, you drive like an old man/or women, (( nothing towards you old people i love you :) )) Why are religious people so negative towards it when they hear it? I once heard "God created everything for a purpose" Also all the potheads are ranting about this quote from the bible: Genesis 1:29: And god said "Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the Earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat" I, personally, am for leagalizing it. It helps me sleep at night, after everyones in bed mind you... And all my friends are potheads, they are stupid and silly and basicly stoned to death all the time. But i dont judge, they have their problems and thats the way they deal with it. *shrugs* I just dont see why people are soo negative towards it...its every where now, theres no place you can go to get away from it, seriously. All I ask is this: People who are negative towards the potheads, think about it, and i dont mean just a little, think deeply about it, research it, the goods and bads. :)
