How much do you mow and how often?

Today was such a beautiful day outside. I really didn't mind that I had to mow the grass....again. Currently I mow about 2 acres every week. It needs it more often, but it's not getting mowed any more often than once a week. Most of it can be mowed with the riding mower which makes it more of a pleasure than a chore. But I have a lot of mowing that I use a push mower for and then I have to use the battery powered weed eater, Black & Decker cordless, which I just love and have used it A LOT!! This is the largest yard so far that I have to mow, I used to mow 1 acre with a push mower, now that's work! How big is your yard and how often do you have to mow it? If the weather were as nice as today all year long, I wouldn't mind doing this year round, but I know winter is coming next.

During a normal summer I would have to mow my lawn once a week. But this summer since it was so dry here and we got little rain, I only had to mow the lawn once a month.

We have just over 5 mowable acres at our home. Most of it can be mowed with a riding lawn mower also- There is a Big side hill that we push mow- and that is a chore! Up and down- It gets mowed in different sections- Closest to the house- once a week- the other land down by our cabin- every 10 days or so—depending on how much rain and sun we get. We have a zero turn mower and 2 other John Deere riders- Takes just about 4 hours to complete the whole yard.—Used to be over 7 – then we bought the zero-turn!

So the zero turn mower actually cuts your mowing time by that much?? I was wondering. My hubby bought me a new riding mower this year, but we had to choose between a zero turn and buying a good used tractor that he can use on our newly aquired 10 acres. So we opted for the tractor. But I think I want a zero turn mower next time we buy one. This is fantastic, I thank you so much for sharing this with me :)

Usually when I mow the entire day is planned for it. When it is really hot I either start in the morning or late afternoon.

We mow every week. Sooner, if we've had a lot of rain. This time of year, it should start slowing down a little. Thank God, the kid's usually do it!

We live in an apartment...no mowing for us!
