Is there a sport that you just don't like at all?

Never could get into Soccer - Soccer is not my sport.

Now don't everyone jump on me but I could never get into the game of soccer. Not even to just watch a game. I'm not a big sports fan but I do try to keep up with the home teams here in Boston. There was a time when I was really into Hockey and knew all the players and what they did. Those days have long since ended. When I lived in San Diego I got into watching Basketball for awhile but that was when Magic was awesome and made it interesting to watch. Do you get into watching any sports on tv or attend any games? Is there a sport that you don't bother watching or hearing about?

I think you're right. It's all in what you are used to. Soccer is very new here and we have enough other sports to keep us busy.

Cheerleading...since some people (maily cheerleaders) consier it a sport. Just because you can get hurt, doesn't mean it's a sport. Big deal, you can make yourself into a human triangle and hold each other up on your shoulders. Woo hoo. It's so boring and an interupption to any sports game. I also don't like Volleyball. It's pretty lame and a really boring sport to watch. I've tried to watch it but I just can't get into it.

Cheerleading is becoming a sport for a lot of people. I actually enjoy watching it on tv. I would much rather watch that than Soccer. I think the things they do take a lot of talent and hard work.

I'm not a cheerleader. Nor have I ever been a cheerleader. Nor have I ever wanted to be a cheerleader. However, SPORT is defined as: -Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. -A particular form of this activity. -An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively. Are you saying that Cheerleading does not consist of that definition? Because it is a physical activity, there are rules and they do compete in competitions. One could say that wrestling is a bunch of dudes piling on top of each other. One could say that swimming takes no effort you go back and forth...you just do it fast. One could say that football doesn't require a lot as it's just running and dodging and catching. Right?

I agree with you. I haven't checked..(but I will) and I bet cheerleading IS considered a sport. It should be.

Well as a Brit bought up on the true game of football (soccer to you!), tennis and cricket, I would say the only sports I really can't stand are the purely American ones like baseball and NFL. Admittedly this could be because we don't really see them here (just the occasional snipit on the news or maybe a final on a satellite channel late at night or something) - but to me, they are just frantic and frenetic and not at all skilful! And a question I have always wanted to ask.... why do they call the NFL thing the "World Series", when America is really the only country in the world that plays it? LOL! No seriously - I love watching football (kicking with the feet of course :-) ), and also tennis which is my favourite, and I love skating too. I find golf a bit boring, and I hate boxing.

I do believe it all has to do with what we are used to. Your right about the "world series"....I wonder if anyone has thought about that?

Football AND Baseball. I can't stand them and they put me to sleep. I can watch a game of GOLF with more enthusiasm than I can watch a game of Football or Baseball. I don't know whether it's because they're the most mainstream and popular sports or what. I just don't get it. I never minded indoor soccer. Watching outdoor soccer wasn't as fun, not sure why. I like Hockey, but I watched it all the time with my ex so it's kinda like blah these days. basketball I could take or leave. I hate everyone talking about Baseball and Football. HATE IT. and really, I'm just not into sports period. But I think there needs to be a national MINI GOLF championship, cause that would be AWESome!!!!!

For me hockey is more boring watching it in person than on television. At least a commentator is telling us what is happening. It's a very fast game.

I am not a sports person really, can't stand any of them. Until it comes to kids playing then I lose my mind! LOL My oldest was a cheerleader last year and I attended all of her games since she was just 9-10 years old. At first I thought man this was going to be hard for me cause again, I don't like sports. Then at the first game within seconds, I stopped watching my girl cheer and found myself rooting for our time. By the second game, I would lose my voice for a couple of days, LOL. Our school won their first game in 7 years and I lost it. Then we went on to win the championship! I went without a voice through the whole season. Seeing this boys and girls get out there doing something they loved to do and cheering them on, got me hooked. Now I can say I love basketball for sure. This year both of my girls are going out for volleyball, so I reckon I can add that sport to my list as well. And say bye bye to my voice for awhile :oD

I also love American football, basketball, because it is one of our favorite past-times here in my country. The sport that I get irritated is soccer (football), no offense to those fanatics though. I just can't see any excitement or enthusiasm in watching that game, as I imagine running through and fro for a huge amount of time. I don't like the physical game they have, because it is "dirty" and the catastrophe it creates whenever a hometeam loses. I think they should play in UFC instead, atleast they would earn good amount of money for every fight they join at!LoL

Hi there.. I am a sporty type of person and I definitely love sports such as badminton, tennis, table tennis and even basketball.. What I don't like though is Soccer or Football.. I don't know what to call it but I really don't like soccer/football. Sorry for those soccer/football fans though. I just don't get excited in watching it. I mean, they play like 90 minutes in a game and then score just about 1 or 2 goals and a few times, even no goal at all. I mean, I just get bored watching it. I don't find it interesting at all. I do know that it is the most popular sport in the world. It's just not for me,. :)

I think almost any sport can be dangerous to play. There is always so much running around and throwing or hitting things. I'm sure the players have to be very careful.

I am into watching Rugby especially the All Blacks and Manu Samoa play. The Rugby World Cup is on at the moment and cable charges horrendous fees just to watch each game. We managed to find a free site that screens the games we want to watch, so even though we watch it on our laptop, its free. NBA basketball and Golf are my husbands favorites. I can't seem to get into Baseball and Gridiron though. I miss watching the Silver Ferns New Zealand Netball team playing as well and use to go to their games now and then. I can't even get their games on cable and have yet to find a site online that screens the games for free :( oh well.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that I don't like golf, ctry, but I find it to be very boring. It is a sport that, for me, is impossible to get excited about. Now basketball is a whole different matter-specifically NBA basketball. I had never had any interest in the game except during high school. Then, during the early 80s my oldest daughter made me acquainted with the game. I was pumped and excited after watching only one game. I have been an addict of the NBA variety ever since. I will skip my favorite shows when they are showing an NBA game.(:

Generally speaking I don't like any Pro sport because I think they send the wrong messages to our Kids.In Hockey, if we are not winning we throw down our gloves and Fight.) Our kids should be learning good sportmanship, and that winning is not the most important thing. Also I think kids need to learn that working together is better than being competitive. There are lots of non competitive sports.I don't believe in Boxing at all! I think its cruel and unusual Punishment, and if it was played by animals it would have been outlawed long ago. (same as Bullfighting in Canada and the US)

You are so right about the pro sports teaching kids the wrong lesson. Those guys are supposed to be role models aren't they? They don't seem to be very good sportmen to me.

I always think that PingPong - table tennis - is kinda rediculous. I mean, with small racket, small ball, small net, and small table; why settle for everything small when you can have it big in lawn tennis. Howevre, PingPong lovers might say that this make the game all the more challenging, but it's just not for me. So there you go, table tennis is my most hated sport.

woh... I like sports, but it does not mean that I will use 45 minutes or 1 hours to watch match. Especialy football, firstly, I cannot understand why those 20 people run around the square for such a long time and just shoot 2-3 times into the gate. ^^ (waiting for bad egg...)
