By giving kids chocolate/strawberry milk - does it lose its nutritional value?

My kids are milk drinkers but sometimes they like chocolate or strawberry milk and someone told me that by giving it to them as choc/straw they are losing out on the nutrition. I figured it was probably more fattening because of the syrup and extra sugars but I didn't think the milk itself loses its nutritional value of calcium or vitamins or does it?

I don't see how adding flavoring to mile would affect the nutritional value of the milk. It is still milk. All you are doing is adding a little sugar and flavor. As long as you are not adding a ton and it is getting them to drink more milk then I don't see the problem.
