Any tips for a blogger newbee?

I just started a blog,just a short one to have all my referral links in one place,I have a link to it from my profile,and I just wanted to knwo of any great tips to help start the process. Any one have anything they could pass along to me? What would you have liked to know when you first started out?

one advice I wish i knew or somebody to tell me when i first started out is if you are serious in blogging, go get your own domain name. I started out on blogspot, but met with many obstacles as people generally do not take blogspot blogs seriously. I recently get my own domain name and migrated to wordpress blog. Another advice is to post good content on your blog to build up loyal readership. Yes, there are indeed tons of stuff to learn in blogging. One secret is to be patient and learn it step-by-step. Important to engage in conversation in the blogging community and build a close circle of friends. Like I said earlier, feel free to approach me if you require assistance.

My biggest tip would be HAVE FUN! Don't try and earn money from it or you will loose interest very quickly and your blog wont be a success. Post about something you really enjoy. You can make a little money on the side but most importantly... have fun!

Well the blog I started isn't the money making kind,it's just to post my referral links,which I guess could earn me money,since I have the hardest time getting good referrals. Thanks that is so important,like here on mylot,if you are just in it for the money,it becomes more liek work and less like a great place to talk about stuff.
