Creating a Tag on Mylot

So, i've noticed that after posting every message that I post, it asks for me to make some tags. I understand the concept of what they do and all but do they really help out? I want to know as i'm planning on starting a lot of topics, and if I heard correctly that for every post I make that doesn't get responded to I make nothing. How helpful do you think creating a lot of tags for a certain thread would be?

I think it is always best to list as many tags as possible for the discussions you start. That way you will catch more people who might search for topics to respond to based on interests. As for adding a tag when I respond to other peoples discussion, I never do it. I don't really see the point.

Sometimes I dont tag all of the discussions that i respond to especially if i see that it has many tags already.It suppose to help organize the discussions i thought.Whenever I start a discussion myself i normally tag.
