I was curious to know what exactly was on my credit report, so I took advantage of the one free credit report from annualcreditreport.com. If I thought I had headaches before hand, boy was I wrong!
Once you sign up at the annual credit report.com site, you are asked which of the three major credit reports you would like to recieve from. Well I wanted to see all three, why not, they are free.
TransUnion was on the list first, so they directed me to their site. From the information I provided on annualcreditreport.com they had a series of questions they would use to make sure that your who you say you are using information that only you should know. Well they were asking me about my work history, and to name the employer of which I was employed with during November of 2001, erm I wasnt. From July of '01 to Feb of '02 I was umemployed, had just relocated and was living with a man I had planned on marrying. So in the little box I wrote unemployed. WRONG......HUH? So I check the suggestion box that appeared with the warning sign and they asked for employers perhaps previous or after that date, I used both, neither of them worked. Ok, I let that go and moved onto the next reporting agency on the list, who was Experien, I had no problems there and recieved the report.
I wanted the third option as well which was Equifax. They also said they located my information and by answering a few question only I should know they would give me my online report. Their security questions were regarding a Home Mortgage loan from August of '06.....major HUH!!?!? I have been renting since I dont know when lol so I chose the option none of these. It then proceeded to another security question asking me about the monthly mortgage payments, again I chose none of these since I DO NOT HAVE A MORTGAGE LOAN!!! Then another screen pops up and says that since I could not verify the information in their system I was not going to get my report. I tried calling the numbers on the site to find out what was going on and everything was automated. GRRRRR!
I wrote them a letter and mailed it off this morning, telling them that I DO NOT have a mortgage loan nor had I even tried to apply to one EVER.
This is maddening! Im finanically strapped while someone obviously is out there using my sorry a$$ credit to begin with, to get home loans. How could this be? I mean I know how, but I have tried to apply for car loans in the past and been rejected, how could someone use my information and get a fricking mortgage loan???
If ANYONE has any suggestions on how else to deal with this, please tell me! Has anyone had something like this happen to them? Ive been so stressed and in such a bad mood since I found this out. Ive had a headache for 3 days.

I know Gabs, but Im just worried that the security questions they asked me to identify that Im actually the person I say I am are wrong. I dont have a mortgage loan with any bank, if I did what am I dont renting an apartment!! I just dont want to be a victim of fraud, and have my credit ruined by someone else. If its going to be ruined I would like to be the responsible one. lol There is supposedely a Loan out in my name and social security number from August of last year, thats impossible, and I really want to find out whats going on. I still have not heard from them, I sent them an email as well as a hand written letter.
Thanks hon, Im trying not to worry, but its so hard!!
Thanks for commenting, Bay xx
