Because the minimum wage went up, out manager decided to give us all raises. A few of the people I work with wee already ticked off that I made more than them, but now they are really mad, because someone read my pay stub over my shoulder, and found out that I got $1 more an hour while they only got $0.50. The thing is, I deserve a bigger raise, because I was due for a raise anyway, and I do more work than they do, often even helping them with theirs. So, any suggestions on how to placate them before they make it too hard to work with them?

Just tell them straight away that you did not determine that pay raise because you are no the boss but an ordinary worker just like them... if they want to ask why you got more... then they have to go to the manager for an answer to that question...everybody should be thankful for the pay raise that they got because it is better than nothing... By the way Congratulations on yours...

I like the fact that I almost make enough every month tho pay ALL the bills. Now my son doesn't have to scramble to find money when he's sick and can't work.
