o...o..mine is parrot, I call him PARMIC. Once I greet him "Hi Par?", he always reply with "Hi Mic". A common taciturn communication between me and him, just a way to respect each other and have fun with it. :::michael:::

Your parrot is such a cute one as to call you Mic. Did you train him to speak by yourself or it had been trained already before you got it? You are cool to have a cool he-parrot so cute. lol

I had a dog I named Leno for seven years. Then he was stolen. So when I got two new dogs a couple years later, I named one 'Leon' in honor of Leno. Because 'Leon' is Leno with the letters rearranged. As for my second dog, and I promise this is how it was. When I got him, I was riding in the car trying to think of a name. All the sudden the name 'Sherlock' came to mind. I've never read Sherlock books or seen the movies, but to me he looked like a 'Sherlock', so that is what I named him.

But why you don't tell us how it really was with that Sherlock name.I am sure you read all his book and seen the movies:)just teasing you.I like your"I promise this is how it was"lol

Hello laurika, Yes I have watch the movie bethoven and I agree sometimes people choose to name their dog bas on what they could do. We have a pet dog. I picked the dog name. I based it upon the way my dog looks and charcteristics. After I had the name in mind I asked the kids and they liked it. Usually that's how I pick a name whenever I have a new pet dog. :-)

I just look the face of the dog example and I can choose about my feelings :) I think the pet's eye talks a lot about themselves. And they have funny things what they do so you can choose name about this too. But I think it's a stupid thing to find a name from a pet-name-book - it can't be so personal. If you have an animal choose an uniqe name :)

Actually, my dog name is boots. You see, she is brown with 4 white paws that go up about 7 inches on her feet so she kind of named herself. She is a 110lb. Husky and is so lovable and big my grandson always tries to ride her when he is here. I think a name should be picked by the main person to whom the dog belongs to.
