Bible's View on Women

Okay, I know I'll probably get flamed with this topic, but I want to share what I've found in the bible and how it could have been changed. This will take a while to type out... 31. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32. And the spirits of the prophets are subjects to the prophets. 33. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 34. Let your women keep silence in the church: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded under obedience, as also saith the law. 35. And if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36. What? cam the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37. If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 1 Corinthians 14: 31-37 Okay, here is the thing. The part about women were added in later on by some man with those views. I'll show you what the same verses look like with verse 34 and 35 are taken out. 31. For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 36. What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37. If any man think himself a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40. Let all things be done decently and in order. 1 Corinthians 14: 31-33, 36-40. See what I mean? With the verses 34 and 35 added into this chapter, the story stops altogether, say the terrible things about women, and then the story starts up again. But without verses 34 and 35, the story flows fluidly with no stops in it. What do you all think?

dArtagnan is correct the Bible was written by man, translated by man, but he failed to mention that it was also written FOR man. Back in those days it was a very male-centric world and as such the man had to be held in the highest of esteam although we see with the story of Yahshua (Jesus) that it was woman that stuck by his side, woman that ministered (cared) for him, and woman that discovered him risen. But does that deserve honorable mention?!? No, because it is a MALE RELIGION. The Bible is so male-centric that it even equates the Almighty as male although The creator is SPIRIT and as such cannaot be either. The first man Adam, is atributed as full man from the very beginning yet it was the FEMALE SIDE of Adam (Not a Rib) that created Eve and to this day all men have both an X and a Y chromazone being both male and female. With this knowledge comes the TRUTH that without WOMAN there would be no Man.Soooo..... and finally I get to the point!!! It is entirely possible that some scribe placed additional verses into the Bible to keep woman from having her voice since if she did this truth would come out and man cannot have that happening as a woman is a lower class citizen and to be seen and not heard!!! Well this is just my take on it so you may take or leave it but as a man I do make a little sense!!

so, i am not going to flame you, but i believe that God will use whomever he desires at the moment he wishes to. He uses women all throughout the Bible to do things for him. You cannot deny that God has a part for all mankind, from glorifying him and serving him. I serve him as much as I can and I am a woman. And much to my discression, if the Lord leads me to say something to someone (what some consider prophesying) then i will say it. AND i am on the mark when I do. not because of me but because of who God is. He wants us all to be willing vessels.

This is totally off the topic but you know, reading your post made me realize something which is just staring at our faces but which we fail to recognize. The world as we know now, is fragmented by religious beliefs and people of different faiths are just insulting each other in the name of religion and trying to prove that their religion is supreme and only faith in the world worth following. Yet others say that all religions are same and they cite examples of peace and various sermons as proofs of their efforts towards unity in diversity. But I would say the greatest proof that all religions are same lies in the way all religions treat women as second to man. None treats woman equal or superior to man. In Hinduism, the mother goddess is worshipped but all Hindu religious texts refer to woman as the property of man (same as Bible, Koran et al) with strict instructions as to what the woman can or cannot do (no such instructions for man per se) and all the spheres where women should not move independently without the help of man are clearly listed, women are generally mentioned as the path to hell (satan’s allurements), women’s world is restricted to her home and hearth etc etc. What more proof do these warring dimwits need that all religions are basically the same?
