Ratings and Responses...

I've recently gotten behind on responding to ppl that respond to my discussions. I know it's not required by MyLot and in fact you aren't supposed to say Thank You to everyone (I comment on their response and thank them for taking the time to respond). For me it's a common courtesy.
I also haven't marked best response in several discussions. I am going to work on both things this week and get them all caught up. I also am going to start rating responses... something I don't normally do but have realized the importance of lately. So be patient, I'm going to get them all caught up. :)
Do you rate ppl that respond to you? Do you reply to ppl that leave you a response in your discussions? Does it irritate you when you fall behind? Do you have unmarked best response discussions?

I always respond pretty much as soon as possible to my responses... the first time. Then I check back later maybe every couple days then I stop. I rarely remember to rate and mark best responses. One day I get fed up and I go and do a bunch of them...but I don't think it really matters too much to me.

I always try to give my ratings right after I respond to discussions. So I'm pretty much up to date on that. And I think I'm caught up on giving everyone thanks for responding to my discussions. But as for the marking of best responses, I have several pages of discussions that I need to go through. I'm waaaaayyyyy behind on that one, and I don't see it getting caught up any time soon. Maybe one of these days....LOL

I try to rate everyone. I do respond to some replies that people leave on my discussions but I don't reply to every one of them. I think I have marked "best response" on all of my discussions.

I try to mark BR's every weekedn.
But I am sure to do it twice a month at the least.

I am overly organized. A discussion goes exactly 7 days, then gets a best response. I rate each reply as I read it and reply to each reply as well. I have only gotten behind while I was on vacation.

I tend to rate (+) most responses, but not all of them, and often reply to responses. I also have some discussions that I haven't marked best response to, usually there's just one or two responses and I wait for more. Of course, if there are NO responses, it's mighty difficult to rate a "best" one, isn't it? ;o}

Hi twoey.
To be honest, I've just spent 2 hours at the most, responding back to those who have responded to my posted discussions. I wasn't able to spend a considerable time here at Mylot for a few days so now, I've got a lot of catching up to do.
I do give a positive rate for those who responded and even went back to my earliest discussions, that time when I was still a newbie. I wasn't that familiar with the rating system before. Thankfully, I've finished with the rating system from the oldest topics to the latest ones.
I've got only four, I think, unresolved discussions. For most of them, I just got one response. So, I'm still leaving it open for awhile.
I'm still not finished with the responding back because my eyes are starting to hurt. I'll just get back to them again tomorrow.

Mylot requires us to do it, so I always do it and follow the guidelines. I don't easily give best reponse though, not unless my topic has been posted for a long time and that I feel I should atleast reward those who exerted their efforts in responding to my post.
As for ratings, I always rate everyone. I rate positive to those who provide relevant responses, give negative and report those who cheats and responds in an abusive manner.

I rate everyone I respond to, and everyone who responds to my post. I also make a comment on the former. I find it hard to do best responses, unless I have at least four responses to my posts. In some cases, I cannot decide what is a best response or not. It does not hurt me to be behind, but it does hurt when there are only two or three responses and I am waiting for more to give a best response.

I usually respond to all my discussions, but not at the speed that I would like. Right now I am on another computer, so I am catching up in that I am trying to post as many posts and responses as possible, so I will wait until I get back to do most of the comments.
I rate everyone who I responds to my discussions, always giving a plus - well I have not had anyone who said figuratively, "I hate, I loathe you, I despise you," so no one has to worry. I do not do the generic "thank you for your response," because well want to keep the conversation going. I think that myLot was saying, "do not just say, thank you, because that stops the conversation. Oh and I have unmarked best responses. I usually want to have more than two responses and it is hard for me to decide besides tossing a coin and saying, "eennie, meenie, minnie, mo."

Hi there ...
Well I believe that I must leave a comment to whoever responds to my post, it is not a must in the since 'obliged' but I mean a person who put some effort 2 show up and write me a response, I guess he deserves at least a simple comment.
I always try to mark a best response in my discsussions but I just take my time before selecting a best response, maybe I don't rate ppl who respond to me but I am always keen 2 select the best response.

I am new here. But the way I understand the rules, it is very important to respond- either on other's discussions or reply to the responses on your own discussions. And rate, too helps a lot. It is pushing our co-member up or down based on the quality of their discussions. It is the basis of our "stars" and ratings. I hope, I got everything right. because that is what I intend to do here. To be obedient and religiously follow all the rules. lol

I use to with almost all of my replies to my disscussions but here lately I admit I haven't been as much as I once did. I am trying to get back to being more active in mylot I really enjoy being in here.

Yes I rate and respond to everyone who responds to my discussions. I just think it is common courtesy, like you said to do this. They are taking the time to respond so why not take the time to rate and comment back. I do have unmarked best responses and haven't had the time to mark them. Also been having problems with my internet as it is cheap dial up and a piece of junk. Can't wait to be able to afford HughesNet and then I won't have the problems I do now. I am stuck with dial up until my husband starts getting paid from his new job. :)

Fantastic. Take your time, you will catch up. I rate everything I read.Sometimes I can't respond, I don't have anything more to add . But I do rate the discussion.

I try to keep up and respond to people as quick as I can but then life gets in the way and I get sidetracked for awhile. Then it takes awhile to catch up. I usually forget to rate people then I go on a rating craze as I guess that is how the site is supposed to work and then once every week or so I try to catch up on best responses. It seems like a vicious cycle to me! But fun none the less. Happy Mylotting everyone!

I try to rate responses as often as possible. If it helps others (or so I am lead to believe) and it only takes a few minutes, I don't see why not. I don't usually repond to every comment unless I really have something important to say. Finally, I don't get to caught up if I fall behind. It's no big deal for me and I just MyLot every now nd then for fun...
