Adam called Eve "the mother of us all"... Is it possible the earliest 'mother goddess' came about due to fuzzy memories of Eve handed down? The oldest artifacts known to us, are small statuettes of a mother goddess, and they have been found in all lands.
What d'ya think? [Can we 'remember' that far back?]

oh i have no problems with anyone and there views *to each his own*
just agree to disagree- doesnt really make either one of us wrong - just like anyone/ religion or believe its what U ( or I ) feel is all :)
i dont think theres any need to make anyone feel THEY are wrong in anything - everything is WAY too interpretable to be WRONG!
u know what i mean? :)
I mean when u really think of it - who are we to know that EVERYTHING either of us think or believe is even right? ?? lol lol
Beliefe is all there is : )XX
and thats fine for me :)
* as i have said before... if we all believed the same.. WERE the same.. what a BORING place to live! :(
I like having different view weather i agree or not :) XX
XX :)
but Yeah if u can please have a read of her u might find some answers as we did - or just ebjoy the *ideas* of what shes saying :) XX
have fun!

Hi Lakota! I started to think that way when I was looking at a picture of one of these early figurines.. it simply looked, to me, like the torso a baby would see as they were being held or carried beneath the mother's clothing.. And I could envision the nations taking comfort in such figurines as they spread out over the earth from the scattering away from Babel Tower..
- I was being cute about the memory thing.. mostly! except I guess I do think we can connect to the past.. and to truths, by recognizing them somehow within.. when, or if they ring true to us that is..

In Christianity, Adam and Eve are not gods, here is only The Almighty. However, in the old-world religions, there is no Almighty, there is the Father and the Mother. Two equal entities that created and rule the universe.

Hi Rev! It's Genesis 3:20.. "and Adam named his wife Eve, because she was the mother of all the living".. (I do have this terrible habit of paraphrasing my memory of a verse, or I may be remembering a certain version of it - guess I figure believing it, he likely said it.) The Amplified Bible says the name Eve means "life spring". And the Hebrew (Strong's 2332) "Chavvah" is said to mean "life giver".
Best regards! :)

I believe that the adam and eve story could very well just be another God and Godess story just to show us the meaning of life or something in those lines. I have asked b4 it says when God casts adam and eve out of the garden he says: Genesis 3:22 And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Who is the US that God is speaking of? The adam and eve story is also very fantsy like b/c it states that eating from a tree can give you knowledge. Another question I always wondered is who cain and abel married, which to answer this in hebrew the word ADAM means mankind and EVE means womankind. But your question could very well be true in a story since to understand where we came from. I dont think it actually happend that way, but i for one believe in evolution.

hi, Libertarianfreedom!
..just to answer your questions you mentioned - the "us" god is speaking of in Genesis "let us make mankind in our image" is the father and the son.. the "tree" of knowing good and evil, well, when god endowed thinking ability to angel and man, a whole new world (or tree) of possibilities 'came to be'... [and god only able to be true, well, there was the tree in the garden of "life"]. And then, in Cain and Abel's day, there was no taboo against marrying sisters.. as the DNA had not been separated, as it is now, which makes it now a dangerously low pool of DNA.. Adam and Eve (and all) lived to be almost a thousand years old (before the life force diminished as we traveled away from god/life/perfection. Some have figured by time Cain married there could have been as many as 25,000 people upon the earth..
- And I hope you won't think I'm trying to be obnoxious or pushy or anything.. but I finally studied up on evolution and one of the things I found is that prominent mathematicians have said the odds of the first life (amino acids) forming is like impossible to the one hundreth degree or something. I thought, or was sort of imagining, two amino acids, and found out it was a line of 113 (or 1300?) amino acids to form "life". Seems like it would depend on a series of highly unlikely/impossible accidents to occur.. Parts of that theory are pretty wild! Wilder than I ever knew.
..all the best!:)
