My daughter Lily will be 8 months old on Sunday. She just took her first 3 steps. I let go of her hands and she just kept going. She sat down when she realized what she was doing. Whoo-hoo! I am so proud of her. She has been cruising on furniture for about 2 months, but finally did it on her own.

This is a special moment for her, for you and the family. You must be very proud. To take her first step at 8 months is consider early, Congrats! Now do take note of child proofing your home, especially the furnitures, for the safety of your baby.

Her brother was walking at 9 months, and that was pretty early. She is so tiny that it looks funny to see her walking around on the furniture. She is smaller than most babies her age. Childproofing the house will be a ton of fun. She is already climbing stairs when she thinks you are not looking. I have already had to put latches on all the cabinets becasuse she will go over and open them up and take out all the bowls and pots and pans.

When you mentioned about opening kitchen cabinet to mess with the pots and pans and whatever inside, makes me smile. Because my 18 months daughter love to do that!! I wonder why children like to open drawers and cabinets and take out its content. Is it due to curiosity?
