Update on my neighbor's dog.....and it's GOOD!

I got home a little while ago from picking my daughter up from school, and when I pulled up to the curb I didn't see Raider (the neighbor's black lab mix, for those of you who haven't read my other post about him yet). So we came in the house, and I told my daughter to go out and pretend she was picking my roses, as the bushes run down the fence between my house and the neighbor's, and to look through the fence to see if he was still chained up. Good news! He is now out in their back yard running around like a puppy at this very moment! And he's making little happy yelping noises from the attention he's finally getting. My daughter played with him through the fence for a little bit, and she said his tail was going 9-0. LOL Hopefully they will keep him in the yard and not chain him back up to the side of the house again. For the moment I (and Raider) am a very happy camper!

Good for Raider, and your neighbors!
We chained a dog when we were young and stoopid... I couldn't stand it, and found him a home. We thought we would be able to mellow him down, but we couldn't.
Now our pups are in the house, on the furniture, in bed with us, in the van when we go... our little hairy family!

Sounds like my house with the cats, and with my Meg before she passed away. She would go everywhere with me. The only reason she didn't end up in bed with me was because she was too old and the bed was too high. So I have a hairy little family too...and hairy couches...and hairy carpets....LOL.

I do (vaguely) remember wearing dark colors, and not having to go over my entire body with a lint roller before leaving the house!LOL!
But all the snuggling is worth whatever small price I have to pay. With the cool, damp weather we're having, we ALL really appreciate each other!

I hope it does too. I know they've been putting him on a chain sometimes in the back yard, but it's a much longer one, and he has his cool igloo dog house there, a big bucket of water, and it looks like he has food at all times now. And he's not on the chain all the time. So he's doing really well, and I'm happy.

It's not her job to keep an "eye on the situation".That's the problem with neighbors living to close, jumping at the slighest thing to start trouble. All you did was probably cause unneeded stress to the new parents and a new enemy. It doesn't hurt to chain animals up if needed.
OMG peeping through the fence....lol

stormygrl , If you knew catlady you would know she is very careing lovely person who loves people and animals , She was being caring and worried about the dog , There is a big difference between caring and being nosey , I know that her "peeping through the fence " was because she was worried xx

No, it doesn't hurt to chain them up once in a while, but when the animal isn't given attention, food or water for almost a week....then there's a big problem. And if people such as yourself can't see that, then you must be either blind or heartless. But thank you for being willing to post your opinion.

Thats great news! I am glad to hear it. No animal should be treated that way, ever. Im glad someone finally came to their senses and started treating raider better. Hopefully things stays that way.

Yay, that's awesome news.
I'm so glad it has turned out well and Raider is playing and running freely in the yard.
I think he has you to thank for helping give his people a helpful nudge!

Good for Raider. :) I just don't understand why they didn't let him roam the yard in the first place. Ah well at least he's able to play now. :)
