Is this stuff addictive or what?

Ok - I am a newbie to mylot. Just signed up within the last week. The first couple of days I pretty much just surfed the discussions to see what people were talking about. Then a few days into it I went ahead and posted a response to something. Nothing major. Then the next day, a few more, etc. I have never done online chat rooms or anything like that before. I have to ask...Is it supposed to be this addictive? I get home from work now and I log in and see what's going on, who has responded to something I have said, etc. Was it like this for you? Is it still like that for you? How long have you been a mylotter?

Thanks! It has really been fun. I hope I can continue to find the free time to log in every day. We'll see if the novelty wears off soon. :)

Hi dpurchas! MyLot is really ADDICTIVE!!! hehehe.. I can see myself in you during the first 3 weeks I've been here in myLot! At work, I do myLot, after I finished some of my works. Then when I'm travelling back home, I already had some discussions running on my mind which I want to start other next day. LOL.. And I've been posting pictures, starting discussions and replying on others' discussions. Oh well... I ALWAYS learn something new here in myLot everytime I'm here. :) I hope you do, too. :) Take care always and God bless! \(",)_

So far I haven't had the urge at work, but I wouldn't be surprised if it comes. I'll have to resist. LOL But I am still feeling my way on the new topics. Right now I am having fun joining the other conversations. It is really great meeting new people and learning from others. I haven't tried the pictures yet, but one of these days I'll give it a try. What I like the most I think is how helpful everyone is to each other. Definitely got me hooked!

At first it was very addictive, and then unfortunately life came in and ruined my fun. :) I've been a mylotter for a little over a year I think, and I think this place is great. I wish I had more time to spend here.

I've been with myLot for 3months or so. It's great. It's a great way for me to relax. I don't know if it ever fades but I guess it truly depends more on the time you have on your hands. I'd miss it though when I can't or don't have the time, specially if you have a good topic in mind. But it's ok. Once in a while I can't really visit the site because it's either I'm already too tired from the day's work or I am lazy. But altogether, I do come by around 2-3 times a week. *LOL* Sometimes I spend my extra time here to just relax with intelligent people. Good luck. Hope you'll enjoy myLot more. =)

I didn't even think about the relaxation aspect, but you are right. I work a high stress job and I have noticed I am not as wound up at night in the last week. I hope I can continue to enjoy this as much as I do right now. Thanks!

Hello dpurchas, Welcome to Mylot! I guess its always the same thing that happens to most of us when we get started here on mylot. I did the same thing as you did, My first week here in mylot I just surfed the discussions to see what people are talking about. Then posted a few to see what happens, got response, then another and so on. For me I think mylot is addictive. I never missed a day without logging in here in mylot and posting on discussions. I login during the day and in the evening when I get home. I have been here for almost 2 months now and I feel the same way that I need to login at least once here in myLot. :-)

That's great to know. I wasn't sure if it was that I have never been in chat type scenarios or if I was just weird. Glad to know that after 2 months it is as new as the beginning. :)

Yeah - it is kind of hard to believe that you can actually earn something while having fun. Plus I am always full of advise and opinions, so its the best of both worlds! LOL

I found the same thing when I first signed up it starts to wear off after a while if you are in it for the money, if you are in it for the discussions it can be kind of interesting.

Of course it is addictive! It is 9:30pm and I need to go and wash my hair, but no, here I am reding discussions in Mylot and writing some comments about different topics! I like reading and also contributing in Mylot, as it really feels my need for "talking" to people! I have been a mylotter for a few months already and I even have plans for writing more things here!

When I first started on the site, I thought that it was pretty random because I was always looking at the new dicussions. I really got addicted to MyLot when I discovered the topics and how to focus in on the stuff you are really interested in, for me that's mostly writing, reading, travel, crafts, and saving money. Of course, I respond to other sections, but I spend the most time on the reading and writing parts of MyLot. I write for Associate Content and Helium, and there are groups for each of those. Once you align your interests with MyLot discussions, it will become even worse! Or better! Depends how you look at it.

Oh! I didn't even think of that yet. I have been viewing the top discussion pages so far. (and a could of the interest categories) I don't know if I can spend time on just the discussions for my interests. I'd never come up for air.

Yes it's definitely addictive especially when you know that your earning from it. I have been with mylot for 8 months, but I've just been active last may. Though I don't post many topics, but I would always log in just to read what been happening. I've been learning a lot from this forum, getting new ideas and sharing mine. Happy mylotting.

It is rather addictive. I'm almost out of the newbie group but I'm doing fine nonetheless. Some mylotters think I'm post crazy O_o But I have so much I can respond to and the threads here are vast in number.

Hello dpurdhas, When I first joined mylot, which was about 3 weeks ago, I spent a lot of time trying to find my way around. I checked out lots and lots of discussions of different interests. Then I went on the search for a few friends. Then I went through and broadened my interests. At first I spent a couple of hours a day looking through mylot, trying to figure things out. Mostly I responded to listed discussions. If I liked what I was reading from someone, I will add them as a friend. Now I just look for topics of interest to answer to or just browse until I find something interesting. Sometimes that takes a long time. So, in answer to your question, yes, mylot is addicting. The people you meet have wide ranges of knowledge. The comaraderie between certain people is definitely there, and it is nice to see. These people have lots of respect for each other. They are willing to help each other, and work together to make mylot work well for everyone. Enjoy yourself here and if you should have any questions about anything, just start a discussion and see what happens. Happy posting..

Thanks for the tips and the advice! I have searched to find some stuff from old discussions so far, but I have a lot to learn about how all of this works. I have noticed what you mentioned about the people though. It almost seems naive, but I feel like I am talking to long lost friends. It is definitely novel. Especially for someone like me. I don't tend to make friends very quickly.

i have been a member of myLot for about eight months now and im still as addictive as ever. ^__^;; i guess it is supposed to be addictive to some people like us who loves sharing what we think and loves discussing things. i go to work and i dont fail to check on myLot at times when i dont have anything to do and during break times. i go home thinking of myLot and then log in again just to see who have responded to my discussion or who have responded to my comments. ^__^ sometimes i just get frustrated because i cant check and comment back to all of the responses im receiving because i get busy sometimes. sometimes when i go to sleep i still think of myLot. LOL and most of the time, im thinking of topics that i could start on here. ^__^;; welcome to the world of myLot addicts! LOL

yeah it's pretty addictive! When I first joined, I logged on to mylot almost everyday, even if it's just for a short while. I neglected other things that I usually do online to spend time on mylot hahaha. But nowadays, I don't get to login to mylot as much as i want to, or used to. nowadays since i'm tied up with other things, i can only login to mylot a few times in a month huhu.. T_T

I became member 3 days ago. I like the feeling that I have new messages. In my life,I have other places do the same thing, Such as Q-zone, xiaonei. But in mylot,I have different way-using English and make mistakes, because sometimes I can't understand the meaning.

Hi dpurchas, I have joined only 2 days back and i am enjoying. So far i havent understood much. but am writing what my heart says. responsing to discussions and commenting. have just started a new discussion but am really unaware what should be done more. Doing what my heart feels. But yes its addictive and its fun... money i havent seen anything yet buit thats ok. i think money will flow as my thoughts will in form of writing... i am full of thoughts lingering in my mind always whether i am travelling or working... even sleeping. I often get sleeping after a lot of thinking exercise. So maybe i am goona be big time addictive. Take care.
