I don't know much about goddesses. Bastet sounds like a wonderful goddess. Do you have a website or a good book recommendation to learn more about goddesses?

Yes, I have heard that some people do consider her so. I even know some branchs of the Roman Church that almost worship her as one too. I even know why, but it has more to do with where the religion borrowed from rather than true Christianity.
I figure that she'd probably rather that, since she allows it, than those Churchs where they don't truely follow the teachings of her son.
There's a saying that Mary will leave any place that doesn't follow her son. Do you see her in any protestant churchs?

My friend Shasta considers Mary a Goddess. She has a garden dedicated to the Goddess. One section is Mary's grotto.

I think the Children of Bastet is a beautiful description. I am not into any kind of religion or "gods/goddesses" at all to be honest - confirmed Atheist that's me!! But I do have a great love for, and respect for nature and the laws of nature, and as I grow older I do feel more attuned to Wicca and Paganism than anything else, so I guess Bastet would be the one for me. I am known as the Cat Lady to the kids in my neighbourhood - so I am getting there obviously!
