So, I ran across a contest the other day called "The 50 Book Challenge". It is where you read 50 books in under a year. Well, I've decided to take it one step forward and now I'm aiming to read 100 books in under a year. Now I need some suggestions for books to read. What is your favorite book? Tell me a little about. Give me the who, waht, when, where about it. Who is it about/who is the author? What is it about? When is it set? Where is it set? Thank you ahead of time!

50 books in a year is plenty...for someone who does not work...I am a pretty fast reader and I couldnot do it. Check out James Patterson - he writes mystery, suspense type books - if you have seen Kiss the Grils or along came a spider - that is james patterson

As I read each one..it becomes a favorite. The Women's murder club series is great. It is nice to see women in a strong role. But I like them all

I'm hoping for 100 books in one year, but it's more along the lines of "IF I read 50 books, THEN I'll try to read 50 more before my time is up." So, if I don't make it to 100, but I do make it to 50, then my goal's completed. I have heard a lot about James Patterson, but I've never read one of his books. I remember seeing one at my local libray, so I'll have a look at it next time I go. Is any paticular one your favorite?

I admire your resolve. I hopw you make your goal. We need more well read young people. Pick some topics that interest you, but also pick a few that you don't like. Expose yourself to as many new ideas as possible.

Thank you for your comment, and the good wishes! There aren't very many topics I don't like, or aren't at least a little bit interested it. I love to learn, and what better way to learn than by reading? Every subject and genre is open to me, because when I start reading a book, I always go into it with an open mind. When I finish it, I may or may not like it, but at least I can say I've read it, and have an intelligent conversation about it.
