Back then, Bartending was a great way to make money and meet women- some of the best days of my Life were had when I was in "The Biz" and if memory serves me correctly, Bartending paid me much more than almost any job that I ever had... Tips and perks from customers and beverage companies could make your pockets very fat, but you also spent a lot of money, too... I don't even want to think about what those 1970's dollars would be worth today if I had saved and invested about half of the money- probably in the half million range, if the markets were stable, which they were not... Exotic Dancers (No, not me- even with my great body! LOL!) made HUGE money- I'm talking Thousands in tips, every night- I had a couple of them as clients for my photograpy biz- they paid my $200.00 an hour fee easily... I've had a bunch of jobs- from Animal Caretaker to gas Station attendant (Remember those?), but the most fun was Bartending- I learned some of the funniest jokes, met some of the HOTTEST women, ate some of the best foods and made Lifelong friends... These days- I'm having fond and fun memories of years past as my 55th birthday arrives... No- I'm not meloncholy- Just wonderous at how I've managed to survive all that partying! LOL! :) Here's a fun site with some great drink recipes: http://www.thedrinkingplace.com/ and, HOLD ON TO YOUR HAT!-Some Free Bartending Lessons! :) http://www.freebartendingschool.com/ Dang! Back in the day- you had to learn from another Bartender, if you wanted to work in "The Biz"... The Internet is just CRAZY with free stuff nowadays! :) Have BIG FUN, everybody! :)

My daughter worked in a pub as a barmaid while she went to Uni to do Law. She got to be a supervisor and dropped out of Uni. She left the pub and went to work at a large club where she again achieved a supervisory role and soon after was made operations manager. This is one of the biggest clubs in Australia. She is now the Human Resource manager at this club. Yep, the dollars are good.

I have met a lot of interesting people in bars, and made a lot of friends there. In fact, I met some of my best friends in bars. I met them while going out to sing karaoke though. I haven't thought too much about working in a bar because I can lose my patience with drunks sometimes, but my little sister worked as a bartender for several years.
