I have never thought of not waking up anymore after having anaesthesia. Also, I may feel a bit afraid when the doctor gives me anaesthesia.. But what makes me push through it is the fact that after receiving anaesthesia, you cannot feel so much pain anymore especially when you undergo surgery or something. I have tried receiving anaesthesia when I had one teeth removed. I was so scared at first, but when I received it.. I can't feel pain anymore when the doc removed my teeth. ;)

hello, laurika. I have never think of not waking up any more after anaesthesia. I have never used anaesthesia till now.
But, I often think of what would it be like after we die. Nothing, nobody, and dark around you ? Just like in asleep? Do we have dreams or remember ones we know and love when we are alive?
When these things come to my mind, I feel upset. But it also make me realize the prsent is valuable and we shoule cherish it!

Hi Laurika! I wasn't too concerned about it until 2 years ago! I had surgery to have a big kidney stone removed. After surgery i sort of remember the surgeon yelling at me to breathe! Now, i don't know if this is common because i didn't keep my follow up appointments with the surgeon! I have been wondering if i almost had to be revived! This is something i think i should find out, i need some peace of mind on this! Take care Laurika.

Maybe that has crossed my mind over the years, but only when I hear a story about it. From when I was four and I had my tonsils removed, to when I was in my twenties (and currently still are in my 20's) and I had endoscopies and biopsies, I've been put under, and have always emerged from the anesthesia unharmed with no side effects. So I guess with all these uneventful experiences, I don't have big concerns about that.

Weeks before I was to give birth, the thought of never waking up after being given anesthesia, have always been present in my mind. That's why, my husband carefully chose the anesthetiscian that was going to work on me.
He was really very kind and I even made a joke to him that I will haunt him if I die from his anesthesia.
But then, no matter how careful a doctor can be, tragedies happen. That was my fear that I won't see my newborn baby once the anesthesia was given to me.
So the only thing that I could do, was to pray hard that I get to open my eyes afterwards.

I don't know whether afraid or not afraid of anaesthesia because I never had an experience before. Anesthesia or anaesthesia the condition of having the feeling of pain and other sensations blocked. This allows patients to undergo surgery and other procedures without the distress and pain they would otherwise experience.
If you would not wake up any more after anaesthesia?, mean you are.......d........i.........e........!!!!!

I've only been put under once when I had major neck surgery and was very slow to wake up after. Now that I know that I have a seizure disorder, there is also the problem that there is an increased chance of a seizure when under anaesthesia. So I'm a little apprehesive about it.
