My grandson is sooooo timid.

My grandson is around three years old. You have to strain your ears to hear him talk, and when he weeps, we can hardly know. Its all so quiet. Many a times I find him weeping on his bed alone and dont even hear him in the same room. Is it ok ? Will he grow out of this timidness.?
