Do you buy, rent or lease?

Cars, homes, appliances, etc. I am lucky enough right now that we have a small shack that is our own and all 5 of our cars are owned by us. I can't imagine paying $2400 for rent plus another $800 for a car payment to own or lease it. It must be nice having a brand new car but it's funny to listen to people that are struggling with rent & car payments, maybe even some rent-to-own things in their rented home. Alot of people think that my husband & I are alot better off than most people cause we have a piece of land and are planning to build a bigger house soon.

I am paying off my house and I love that every cent that I put in its going to be mine. I have never rented (my parents did for about 2 years) I lived with them. my repayments are the same as it would be to rent a house ok so not all of the money goes to me but if I rent none will go to me. As for cars we own 1 car as I dont drive and only my husband drives. Its a second hand care but I am happy with it and we payed cash for it. I dont want to get a new car if I dont have the money to buy it/

That's true, when you rent a house you're paying off someone else's mortgage or just putting some money into their pocket. We'll be paying for the loan to build out new house but it's still something that will be ours and then our children's so for us it's an investment. Our cars are second hand too since my husband is a mechanic. We could probably afford a new car but it's not really a huge deal for me when it comes to what I drive. As long as it runs and I can get to where I need to go & get home again, ugly is fine with me!! LOL
