Bush to Veto Bill to Ensure Troops Time at Home!

As I write this they are discussing on Hardball how Bush has promised to veto the bill which will require that troops much spend as much time back home as they've spent in Iraq before being sent for another tour of duty. Bush calls this a "backdoor troop withdrawal". The Administration likes to act like they "care" so much for our troops yet they've failed since the start to provide them with the equipment needed to improve their safety and now something as simple as guaranteeing them at least as much time at home with their families as they've just spent in harm's way before returning to combat. Does anyone else consider this an absolute outrage??? Annnie

Yes, anniepa, I do agree that this is an outrage. But, everyone who is not in denial already knows that our President is "out of touch" on many issues. I don't remember any previous head of state that has used the power of veto nearly as much as this one has. It is a well-known fact that he is hard headed and stubborn. There isn't anything the people can do since he has all of the power.

So true, and the things he's used his veto power on have been equally outrageous. For the most part it's been something that would benefit the "real people" of this country and maybe cost his rich and powerful buddies a few pennies so we can't have that! Thank you so much for your words, "He has all the power."! There has been much written and said about how low Congress's approval rating is and I won't deny it's deserved in many ways but the real fact is the Democrats don't have enough of a majority to get anything done, particularly when it comes to the war. That seems to be the main cause of may voters' disapproval and that's the issue where their hands are the most tied. How did we stuck with this joker...LOL...? Annie
