food flashbacks

Today, I noticed twice that I had a food related flashback. It was strange because I didn't flashback to any significant event or have any emotional attachment to the memory. It just seemed like a random connection and I don't remember it happening before. In the first incident I was making a sandwich and I started to remember a particular sandwich I ate in a cafeteria earlier this year. The second memory came to me when I ate rotisserie chicken and I thought about a meal I had in a dorm room years ago. Is it strange to think back to random meals that seem to have no real significance?

reason for reason, you will believe that there is no logical coherence for the flashbacks of those memories in the past. actually, deep inside you, that unconscious level of your memory is what has been triggering the flashbacks. you enjoyed those meals immensely then. little did you realize that as you ate then, you felt well fed and nourished with such good food at the moment. in other words, you enjoyed having your fill of that sandwich at the cafeteria at the time and that meal at the dorm room had been memorable for you, too. it is really good to be savoring beautiful memories especially so when it is peppered with food. enjoy them as they come pouring in. i love the trickles of happy memories from my past. they make me smile and they make my world much lighter and more desirable to live in.

I guess on a subconscious level it must have some significance or I wouldn't be remembering it. I know the chicken was a hot meal at a time when I had few of those. When I ate the sandwich, I was pregnant and avoiding processed meats at the time; I allowed myself to have it that day. When I think about it, there is a story behind both meals.
