Well what I usually do is try to related what I am studing with real world... like if I am studing about plants, look for a plant and see the parts, for example. Hands on it is the best to remember...
And also try to see why is helpful the information I am learning...

One method which I find is effective when I want to memorize certain things I try to associate them with some meaningful and impressive items. The second method is persistency. I always revise my study every now and then after understanding the stuffs I study.

If you mean tips for remembering what you've studied then I have one that may help you out.
When I started studying I had a heck of a time remembering anything and always ended up looking a bit stupid and i asked loads of people for help with it.
I hit upon the thing that worked for me purely by accident. I was doodling while i was studying (boredom set in hehe) and when i finished, I wandered off. My hubby saw my doodles and asked me what i was drawing and i was like 'oh thats king louis being guillotined during the 1789 french revolution....'
I realised that if i doodled what i was thinking about while studying, i would remember more about the subjet than if i just read it and went away. Now every time i study i use doodles and sketches to help me remember the information i need.
Im not saying that it will work for you, but it might and it cant hurt to try right?
good luck!
