Shout is pretty good. I've also used spray and wash, wisk and tide. There are times I use glycerin if its a major stain and the fabric can handle it. There is also oxyclean used alone or put in a wash cycle. Depending on the stain and the cloth, very cold water on the stain can help get it out. Its also to counter general heat cooking the stain into the clothing.

Peroxide works well too, but its not a favorite of mine due to some formulas bleaching the fabric in question. Toothpaste saved me from a tricky stain as well and the wash afterwards was fine.

I use Grease Lightning. It got blood out of my jeans, an oil spot out of the carpet, and a greasy hand print off a couch at my church. I don't think it has ever NOT worked on anything I tried it on. I think it even says it might not work on denim, but with my jeans I thought what have I got to lose? And lo and behold it came out. : )
