I feel that cricket is the only game where they are playing with different versions, namely test cricket, one day international, and now 20-20. I know of no other games which is being done so. What next 10-10 or may be 5-5 or could be only bowl-out in cricket. The ICC is indeed ruining cricket in the name of money.

i dont think that 20-20 world cup will replace traditional 50 overs WC as it is like test match cannot replace OID.Both have a different set of rules and playing styles. As can be seen then newly formed rules like bollout and no ball rule are different from OID rules. 20-20 WC is just a new format of game to be played.

TWENTY20 WILL NEVER EVER REPLACE the 50 over one day matches or the test. as we must see that one day match have their own significance and test has its own. none replaced any other. so the same would happen with twenty20 matches but i personally feel that twenty20 will definitely fast the pace of 50 over match or in other sense we can say that we will lose the essence of the 50 over match.

i don't think 20twenty will replace 50 0vers matches just because when 50 overs matches were introduced for first time everybody thought that it might replace test cricket but see test cricket that retained its essence.

I don't think that Twenty20 World Cup will replace traditional 50 overs World Cup. Cricket bodies and cricketers need more matches so that they can earn more. Twenty20 WC serves that purpose.

It's obvious that such a question would arise now.. Will 20-20 replace 50 over ODI??? Well, my answer is no it will not! But yes, it will have a telling effect on how ODI will be played going forward...350+ score would be common just like 250+ score was a few years back.. milott, u say ICC is ruining cricket by introducing 20-20... think abt it again... The game is fading away due to it's format.. an entire day for only 1 match.. If you goback to history... it was only test matches that were played later ODI introduced... Do you now watch entire 5 days of test match sitting in front of TV? ODI bought some glamour to cricket and when ppl couldn't afford to spend that time for game gradually the interest started fading away (this has atleast happend to me!) All I want is from the game is some entertainment along with excitement attached to sports... now look at 20-20 format that is wat exactly it is for.. Now I can comeback from office and still find time to watch entire match... Do you also know that 20-20 was introduced in English county to bring back the crowds to the ground... It's fast it's furious it's filled with excitement.. and this is the order of the day now... Only one thing is constant and that's change.. cheers... just enjoy the game..

no i dont think t20 can replace odi s. both the formats are completely diff although its gonna affect the playing style of teams but it surely not gonna replace 50 50 matches
