error downloading codec

I have an AVI file downloaded from the internet but i can watch cause it requires me to download a codec but everytime it has error downloading it and i can only listen to the sound but not the video. I am sick of AVI files!! Anyone can help me?

I use the divx codec to play my .avi files. You can try to download it at http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/codec/ ..and see if it works for you. Hope that you'll be able to play your movie files successfully! ;)

well,i using it too.. i have an installer that i've saved in my computer so if i'll gonna have troubles again.. i can just re-install the software

YOU SHOULD TRY DOWNLOADING THE k-LITE CODEC PACK VER 3.0x FULL VERSION.THE BEST THING ABOUT IT IS THAT ITS FREE AND IT CAN PLAY LOT OF FORMATS INCLUDING RM,RMVB,FLV,FLA,MP1MP2OGG,AMR3GP ET ETC....JUST GOOLE IT OUT AND U WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED....

you can use gspot to find the codec you need, then download it from free-codecs.com. However, to watch .avi files, I usually use vlc media player, since it already has lots of built in codecs and can play almost all media files. you can download it at www.videolan.org
