Do you just figure how to put it together on your own or actually open the instruction paper and follow it?What was the last thing that you put together?Did it take you along time? How did it turn out?LOL.:):)

I never, ever read instructions first. I always figure my own way out of assembling things, then skim the instructions to see if I did it right.

I pretty much always read the instructions. I have to, it's a part of my personality. I like reading instructions and knowing how things are supposed to work out. If it's extremely obvious how it's supposed to work out, I'll do it without the instructions, though. The last things that I really had to put together was a bathroom rack and a computer desk. Both required instructions. The bathroom rack was easy and the computer desk was a serious pain. They both turned out well, though, once it was all finished.

Your like my boyfriend. If its like 2-3 pages long,it doesnt matter,he will still read every line there is on the paper. We have to be quiet when hes got his thinking cap on!LOL.Even if its small,he still want to read it and im like "look, its so obvious it goes like that.".Hes like"doesnt matter, you have to read to be sure."lol.Except for the time he put the swing set together,i think he was in a hurry before it got dark and thats why the screws were not in their proper place and the steps looked like they were made for smurfs(put on upside down).:)

I read the instructions. I have seen too many people mess up by trying to do it themselves, with no real knowledge instructing them how to proceed. I would rather do it right the first time than going back and fixing it later.

I know!!LOL.My boyfriend is one of those. This summer i bought a swing set for our daughter and he tried to assemble it,not even reading the instructions one bit.The screws were not even in the good places at all and the slide steps were all screwed up,he must of put it together for a smurf or something!lol.I ended up the next day when he was at work, taking it apart and redoing it myself.:):)Plus he has a tendancy of tightning the screws too tight and breaking something with his gorilla hands.lol.Especially juice jugs.Grrrrrrrr.:):)

Photo of My Desk I Put Together - Computer desk
Well the very last major "project" where I put something together was my computer desk....and this isn't exactly a small desk either! And yes, I most certainly did follow the instructions..I did it all by myself, though to be honest I wouldn't have minded some help....this was a heavy momma to do...LOL I managed to find a photo of my desk that I put together too...hehe

Wow!Great job pyewacket!!;)I would like to have a desk like that, but had to settle for a spare kitchen table that we got rid of for an antique one.It sets too high up and annoys me alot.Very uncomfortable.Today we are suppose to go to a near by small city and look for a dress(for me)to wear to my boyfriends nieces wedding thats coming up in 2 weeks from today.Maybe he,he,he if im sneaky enough i can get a ,well, nice appropriate dress and a computer desk(not to expensive)for the price of 1 dress.Like 2 for one deal.I have a price range for the dress, but i like to stretch my money out,so i can get more out of it.LOL.:):)

Hi peanutjar, I rarely read instructions to anything that I am putting together, that is why I always have problems. Then I have to go back and read the instructions and put it together the way it is supposed to be. You would think that after all these years that I would learn to slow down long enough to read the instructions. It would save me so much time if I paid attention to that minor little fact. Happy posting..

I usually do not look at an instruction booklet. However, if it is an important object, and putting it together wrongly would result in it being completely destroyed, then I would definitely look at the manual.
