for those of you who know, i just move in to my new house about one month ago... everything is settled... well, about 3 days ago, i received an email from the solicitor of my financial institution telling me that they had miscalculate the stamp duty fee... they charge me the stamp duty fee on the concession rate and i'm not eligible for it because i already receive the first home owner grant (FHOG) from the government... so now they request us to pay the shortage in four weeks... well, i and my hubby are very angry about this because this is the second time they do it to us... before this, they forgotten to include the lender mortgage insurance (LMI) amount to the settlement calculation... so 2 days before the settlement date, my conveyancer call me and tell me to open a bank cheque... otherwise, the settlement can't take place... i and my hubby are working everyday and we are very busy... in such a short notice, i have to pinch in a time to go to the bank to arrange that and deliver it to my conveyancer agent in the morning of the settelement date before 8.30 am... that really cause us a lot of inconvenience... the worst part is, they do not apologise at all to us and compensate us anything... this time, it happens again... and again, there is no word of apology in the letter... we are determined this time to fight the case and won't pay them as this is clearly not our fault... we already fulfill all of our responsibilities and pay whatever fees they charge us... if there is a miscalculation one month after the settlement, it is their fault and they have to pay for it... if anybody out there has any knowledge about what is my right in this matter, please help me... i just want to know that this is clearly not my fault and i have the right to fight the case with them... any input or idea will be much appreciated... thanks in advance for your response...
