Warning about the Pogo Chatrooms

I love being a club pogo member. However, there are times when I get so angry with it, that I just can't stand it and I want to cancel my membership. For instance, I have been a member for about 5 years now. I have accumulated about 5 million tokens, and about 400 badges. One day I was in one of the rooms ( think it was hog heaven slots) and there were some people in the chat room harassing me. At first I argued back with the people (big mistake). Then I decided that this was childish, so I just blocked them. The next day I tried to log onto my pogo account and it was blocked. I waited 72 hours because I figured it would be temporary. It was still blocked. So I called them. The people that were causing me problems had reported ME to pogo and my entire account got deleted! Oh yeah...and it was a week after I had just paid for a year membership! I had to start all over again with a new account, with 0 badges and tokens, all of my rank progress was deleted as well. I didn't get a refund of my money either! Grrrr! Moral of the story? Don't argue with anyone in pogo! Hey, I am not a snitch, and I am not one to run and tell everytime someone starts with me on a website...but after losing everything on pogo that I worked so hard for, next time, you better believe that I am reporting harassers! People who cause trouble in chatrooms and forums online, are not worth losing your account for, especially when its an account that you pay for.

I've heard similar stories, I have decided that it's better just to report the people right away and be done with it, tht way they can't block your account.

I would agree with cuddlebug79705, while it's not being a "snitch", rather setting up first defence , as this is becoming a common issue. these account "closers" usually get thier friends to join in to have you removed. After numerous reports to pogo, i am working with them to provide a more secure way of complaints being handled.

Sorry you had to go through all that. After trading back and forth a few sentences with someone, and seeing that they just are being stupid or want to pick a fight, I just stop "entertaining" them and pay attention to the game at hand, or change rooms. I've been online, mostly in chat rooms, since 1994 ... and I learned early on that it just isn't worth getting into arguments of any variety online. Too many people are hard-headed, stubborn, and closed-minded. You are never going to sway them.

I have been a long member of Pogo also and I know how you feel..But that is one reason I really don't chat in the rooms...I have met some wonderful members, but I have also seen some terible trouble makers also..The best thing to do is report them, and then block them..I know at times a person feels they can help by stepping in on a chat, but when it is is bad it is just better to report or find another room...I'm sorry to hear that they went as far as deleting your account, that was a bit harass...Usually they just block you for a few days or a week....

I have been a member of pogo for probably 6 years or so. I don't think i have ever once used the chatrooms but that is good advice. it's sad that pogo would not give you the benefit of the doubt before they deleted you just because they reported you. I mean wouldn't they investigate or something? I'm sorry you had so much trouble on pogo...especially after so many years and so many things that you earned. I'm glad I don't use the chatrooms!
