Is the Big Show's father Andre the Giant?

I was just talking to some people this morning about wrestling and one of them said that the Big Show is the son of Andre the Giant. His real life son not in the fake life of the WWE. I just googled it and I read that that was the original skit when Big Show first came to WCW (I wasn't following it closely back then) but that Shane McMahon put a stop to that. Does anyone know for sure?

I know Paul Wight (Big Show) and no, he is not related at all to Andre. For a short time, they wanted to pretend that was the case but that was dropped and never spoken about again. They even dropped his original name "The Giant" in favor of "Big Show" in WWE.
I worked in WCW hen Paul Wight did and he was the pone who didn't like the angle. Naturally he didn't have a lot of stroke but he was brought in by Hulk Hogan who DID and they dropped it all pretty fast.
Shane McMahon is WWE not WCW. He had nothing to do with any of this. It was Eric Bishoff who thought it was a good idea.
When WCW went down and WWE bought it, they changed The Giant's name to The Big Show and never implied anything about Andre.
Short answer is no, the two aren't related. It was just a dumb idea by WCW to push Paul Wight.

There is a pic of him and me on my profile page. I was the editor of WCW Magazine and I called him a big oaf in a column. He was really mad and, when he saw me at the gym, he wasn't smiling but he settled down and didn't kill me.
He is a very, very funny person. I wonder if people even know he can be so funny?

NO, I don't believe that Big Show is Andres' son. I am sure that they are different nationalities and I also believe that Andre only had one daughter.
It is amazing to see men the size of these two!

It isnt ture, in fact Andre has a daughter, i remember seeingon the internet somewhere, an interview, with the girls mother. Also it was just a storyline, wherre Show was in WCW, aand claimned to be his son.

Thats nonsense, the Big Show is not related to Andre in any way. The reason they did that when he first appeared in WCW was to add hype to his match with Hulk Hogan to make more sales. Its just a storyline. If he was his son truly word would have gotten out and wrestling fans would know for sure.

I think it was kayfabe(or fake life) because I recall Show saying Hogan "killed" his father Andre the Giant, way way back.
