That didn't happen. TELL ME that didn't just happen!

Pretzels - I really, really wanted those. :(

I was just chatting with a friend and we were talking about how hungry we were. I barely ate at all today or tonight. I had a crazy urge for pretzels which are my favorite snack. I went to the kitchen and, to my absolute delight, there was a nearly full bag of fresh little twisty pretzels in the cupboard! Elated, I took them down and set them on the microwave and went to get a glass of water. As I walked away, I heard them start to fall. I screamed NO!!! because we all know if you scream NO at something falling, it will stop and go back to where it was. *sigh* The pretzel bag had spilled and they all landed in the dog's water. I was left with TWO pretzels. TWO! I was so mad but yet, it's so par for the course for me. It happens to me all the time. I will get a sandwich and be sooooo hungry, set it down, turn my back for a second and my dog will be eating it when I turn around. And there is no more left. Ugh. Now I am sitting here with a glass of water and pout. Have you ever had something like that happen to you with food? You wanted it so bad and something happened and you ended up losing it, dropping it, finding mold on it, whatever? Am I the only person deprived of what I was craving for hours tonight? Anyone got a bag of pretzels out there? lol.

I had a similar thing happen and it's so annoying; especially if it's something you have taken time to prepare. Like the other morning, I decided to make bisquits from scratch. I only made a few and when I was putting the sheet into the oven; i hit the side and my bisquits all fell on the ground..and you know how dough picks up things easily ..My carpet ..though vacuumed had kitty hair:( Waaaah.

Yeah that really stinks! I hate when I make something and I take the time to get it right and something like that happens. I have things like that happen way too often!

Oh, you poor thing. I have had something like that happen countless times. Mine, is with potato chips, a crinkly bag and a cat. Just imagine coming home and having a bag open that is on top of a fridge with a cat inside it. LOL. I have taken to storing all crinkling things in the microwave. LOL

Oh yes! I have three cats and those bags are magnets for them. That is a good idea to keep those bags in the microwave. I will try that but, knowing me, I will forget they are in there and cook em all! :)

No, lol. I just set them on top of the microwave sort of as a shelf while I went to get the water. I didn't microwave them. I wish I had. I would have eaten them hot. I was just too lazy to set them down properly on a sturdy shelf and make sure the bag was tighly closed.

It does happens to me at times, but I pick up those of which I know I can still consume!;) Seriously, I get disappointed everytime these things occur to me. Especially when I crave for that food, it really makes me want to explode!;) I would vent out my anger and blame everything that I come across with, from tables to chairs and even those who dares laugh at me!LoL

Haha, oh I have blamed people not even in the room! If they laugh, and they do, they get my wrath. My big problem is spilling mu iced tea. No matter where I put it, somehow, I only get a sip and it's spilled. And I don't have any more. I scream at everyone when that happens because not only am I out of the iced tea I so wanted, it's a mess too that I have to pick up!

Oh man. When you have a cat fortunately you don't have to worry AS much. My cat likes to eat butter and he totally likes cheese and my poptarts. but he won't steal the WHOLE thing. I've dropped my food thousands of times though and the bad thing about a cat is you got hair EVERYWHERE. so I end up not being able to eat it cause, even with the 5 second rule, the cat hair grabs onto it!

That is exactly what the 5 second rule is. There are some cases where you shouldn't use it... like with cats... or outside on the ground! ha ha.

Haha. I have THREE cats too! So, I am pretty much in big trouble. If the dog doesn't get it, the cat hair will. The five second rule? Is that, if you pick it up within five seconds, it's still edible? LOL. I like that rule.

Funny, I was just eating pretzels while playing Lottso on Pogo.com. I still have half a bag if you want to come to NC and join me LOL. Seriously though, that happens to me frequently. Murphy's Law basically. More often than not, my hubby finishes the last of something (typically ice cream), and I've only had one serving out of it or something. He eats so much better than I LOL.

I am in NY. I should be able to get there in a day or so. lol. Here, I have two big sons who just inhale everything. I even hide stuff but they find it and eat it but if I eat THEIR stuff, they throw a fit. Oh well, I saved myself a few calories I guess. But next time, I will be more careful. I am so careless sometimes and it leads to me making a lot of messes!

You can't trust Microwaves these days. Your back is turned, and the darned machine lifts it' top, splits the bag, and spills it into the dog's water bowl. Maybe I should tell you about the evil computer that spilled my coffee onto the keyboard. Luckily I was able to wipe it up before any damage, but that computer really got a telling to. :)

Hahaha! I wish I knew how evil that microwave was. It had a mind of its own! I know my computer is possessed. If I eat or drink near it, it magnetically draws the stuff onto it. I have ruined many keyboards that way. Now, I try to stay far away from the computer, especially when drinking large quantities of iced tea like I often do. I have issues with the cups and lids from fast food places. I pick ip the cup, it squashes, the lid pops off, and everything spills. Half the time that happens to me yet I still don't transfer the tea to a real glass. Part of the fun is the cup and straw. I need treatment I think. lol.

I read your title and thought for sure when you ate a pretzel you were going to really eat a bug. I'm glad that didn't happen! But I do understand the frustration. Several months ago, I literally had no food in my apartment, just butter and a few beverages. But in one of my cabinets was a thing of soup. The kind where you take the lid off and heat it up in the microwave, and then put the lid back and sip it as you go on with your business. Well, I've used it before, so I put it in for the appropriate time, and 30 seconds after I hit 'start', I heard a bang. I opened the microwave door, and the container had fallen over, spilling all the soup. There went my food, and here cane a yucky mess to clean up. I was so ticked off! LOL

I shouldn't laugh but that has happened to us here with that type of soup. It blew up and what a mess! If I ate a bug, I would have freaked. Yuck! I would have tried to salvage some pretzels but they were in the water growing by the minute so I was left with only two. I decided not to even get mad. I ate the two and WILL get more today. lol.

Easy come easy go. I have got to say that you obviously did not want the pretzels nearly as bad as you thought or else you would have made sure they were not going to fall. When you have a craving, it seems that that things becomes the most precious thing in the world to you. By the way, I am so sorry to hear that this has happened. I know how good it can feel to unexpectedly find things that you really want.

I wanted the pretzels. I am just careless. I often have iced tea which is my favorite drink and set it down on the very end of a ledge or shelf and when it spills, go into fits because I REALLY wanted it and there is no more left. I have to THINK and slow down. Always in a rush! Thanks. Luckily I am not a big eater and rarely have a craving that can't be satisfied with something else. But I do love pretzels! lol.

Oh, I know just how you feel. I always have a bowl of cereal before I go to bed b/c I'm diabetic and if I don't eat something just before bed I wake up sick. Anyways, I made the bowl of cereal with the last of my milk and took it to the office and sat it on my desk where I was going to eat it. All of a sudden the cat jumped up on the desk, kicking my bowl. Cereal and milk went everywhere so I not only had to clean up the mess but there was maybe 3 bites of cereal left in the bowl. Talk about aggrivated. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

we have a big plastic jar that pretzels came in...and when it is empty we fill it with various different kinds of pretzels..the sticks and the big sticks and of course the tradiotional pretzels but we never let the pretzel jug go empty..it is ironic as it sits just by the microwave and over the dogs food and watering bowl on the top shelf of a cabnet..in plain view...we always have bags of pretzels unopened in the pantry to refill the pretzel jub.. pretzels are a favoriate of ours..as you can just eat a few and feel satisfied...not like chips or popcorn where you want to eat all of them...yes like peanuts..you can't seem to stop..but with prezels it is a different story..i just can eat a few and stop..lol..i like mine with milk..sometimes or i put mustard on them sometimes...or even did them in a salad dressing like Catalina..but most of the time i just eat them plain...

I had to laugh when you described yelling "NO" when the pretzels were falling! The closest thing that can remember to that was when I was younger and still living with my parents. I was probably 19yrs old and working, but living at home. I used to LOVE banana bread! Entenmans banana bread to be exact. Anyway, there was a loaf at the house and while I was at work, I spent the entire day looking forward to having some. Well, I got home and my dad had finished it off. I was hugely disappointed. Nowadays, with my children around, I don't get to excited about eating something that is in the house. Nothing ever lasts long around here. My children nearly come to blows over food sometimes. It's kind of disturbing if you ask me. I feed them, I really do! They act as if they are never fed sometimes! I supposed they experience that disappointment of not getting what they are hoping for quite often. I don't think I'v experienced anything quite like your pretzels falling into the dog water though. That really bites! From your discription of your mishaps, I'm guessing you must not have a weight problem, though! I could probably stand to benefit from your type of luck, lol!

I am so glad that it is not just me that this happens to! I am sorry that you lost your pretzels, I have done the same thing with all kinds of snack foods that I seem to want so bad I can taste it! I also hate when I have hidden some snack food and am thinking of eating it later, and go to find it and someone else had found it and eaten it. That makes me just as mad, and then no one fesses up to eating it because they know that I had hidden it for myself!
