I happen not to believe in destiny. Your argument against it does not really hold up though. You seem to be saying that since you don't like the consequences, they are stupid, therefore not real. This is wishful thinking, not logic.
I don't know if we are destined for anything as we pass though life. I simply don't.
The more I examine my life, the more clearly I see how I have been shaped by my environment. If that influences my decisions in life, and it must, than that is a limit to free will. I am not really free to choose, except from the narrow selection of options I was born to. Is that not the world imposing it's will? Is that not some kind of destiny at work? For the people who've shaped me were also shaped by those before them.
Mankind may well have a destiny. It need not be from God, we can just as easily be carving it out one generation at a time.
I personally choose to live as if there is no destiny, and I take responsibility for every poorly thought out, limited choice I make. You can call it wishful thinking on my part.

Personally, I believe that ALL of us were created by God to be re-united with Him one day. But because of our sinful nature, we became 'separated' from Him. His love for us, however, is unfathomable that aside from giving us the FREE WILL to decide how we live our lives, He also sent His son as an 'option' for us... a gift that will enable us to gain access to Him at the particular Time that He has set.
I believe that even before we were born, He has already mapped out something very good for each and everyone of us. So, I think, that although there is only one destiny that God has designed for us, it becomes different when, because of our pride, we choose to think otherwise and seek out various ways to make our own destiny apart from Him.

I do believe in destiny! I believe everything that happens to us has been prearranged. I think on the day of our birth we are assigned a life and without our knowledge we are following what was preset. I also believe each one of us knows when, where and how we are going to die but it is buried deep in our minds.
